graphic23 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 All the stats in these threads are amazing. We're lucky that Sehwag is in our team. :-) The last stat is probably the most significant in showing what sort of a mindset Veeru bats with.
Guest dada_rocks Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 This thread is entirely based on an assumption that Sehwag has a bad technique. What if thats actually wrong? :D One shouldnt mistake Sehwag's attacking instincts for 'bad technique'. If his swashbuckling strokeplay is the actual building of his big innings, then their foundation is his good technique. Sehwag has just proved a tight good technique and attacking strokeplay is need not be mutually exclusive. Precisely , people should watch his defensive strokes to gauge how good his technique is..I know he doesn't defend often but when he does he is picture perfect.. You don't draw comparison with sachin without good technique
Guest dada_rocks Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 P{rem se boliye vengsakrakr ki g@#$%d mein danda for dropping sehwag and playing him two match too late in aussie land last time
Cricketics Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 P{rem se boliye vengsakrakr ki g@#$%d mein danda for dropping sehwag and playing him two match too late in aussie land last time and at same time kudoz to Anil Kumble for taking Sehwag to Australia.. he must have predicted that in 4th adelaide test we might need someone to save our @ss... and in perth test we might need someone to remove the opening bowlers of Australia out of their fiery spell pretty quickly for the first time in the series.. from nowhere he got sehwag back into the team. just wish he could have played him too in the first couple of tests
cochise Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 In my case it was foresight that was 20/20. Thank you.
amits Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 and sehwag in 2008 in odis has a sr of 120 with a avg of 49. and ppl say he cant play odis:hysterical:
Lord Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 and sehwag in 2008 in odis has a sr of 120 with a avg of 49. and ppl say he cant play odis:hysterical: tbh,its only this year that sehwag's been so consistent, before that he was too flashy.probably he has matured n sees himself as a senior with so many youngsters around
Laaloo Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 P{rem se boliye vengsakrakr ki g@#$%d mein danda for dropping sehwag and playing him two match too late in aussie land last time You can also thank the Jaffers and the Yuvis for sehwags exclusion. It was also baffling that Sehwag didnt play against the porkis at home.
Lord Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 You can also thank the Jaffers and the Yuvis for sehwags exclusion. It was also baffling that Sehwag didnt play against the porkis at home. to be fair to jaffer,,he did a good job in SA,england n against the pakis.its only in aus that he screwed up.so he deserved his chances that he got
cochise Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 It was also baffling that Sehwag didnt play against the porkis at home. Yes indeed...considering he averages 90+ against Pak, it was an order of magnitude more baffling that he didn't play against them. Our prior selectors appear to be like Oz selectors now.
Cricketics Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 forget about playing him against pakistan, on overseas tour.. that of England.. he should have gone big time..
Cricketics Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 to be fair to jaffer' date=',he did a good job in SA,england n against the pakis.its only in aus that he screwed up.so he deserved his chances that he got[/quote'] ya and he really should have been picked in odi's also the way he was in south africa series in protea land. wow what a dumb@ss decision that was who ever decided to pick jaffer for odi's during the odi series in saf..:haha:
cochise Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 forget about playing him against pakistan, on overseas tour.. that of England.. he should have gone big time.. Yes of course...but if you have to look at one example of extreme stupidity...is dropping a player who averages 90+ against Pak in a series against them. What a champion effort our clowns for selectors put in!
Lord Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 ya and he really should have been picked in odi's also the way he was in south africa series in protea land. wow what a dumb@ss decision that was who ever decided to pick jaffer for odi's during the odi series in saf..:haha: yeah that was totally dumb.:haha:
Lord Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 forget about playing him against pakistan' date=' on overseas tour.. that of England.. he should have gone big time..[/quote'] yeah but both karthik n jaffa were doing a good job as openers n they justified their selections in eng, didnt they?
