Predator_05
Would you be willing to begrudge SL all the victories they have had in these conditions ? Link to comment
jf1gp_1
ok I say it again.. toss was crucial. Why is it so hard to accept we are a better team thats why we won. Doesnt SL have home advantage ? All these SL batsman have grown up playing in premadasa all their lives. If they still dont know how to play under lights then its their fault. This whole thread makes our win sound like a fluke. umpire
you guys are not getting it. If India had lost both the games chasing, if I had started this thread, it would have sounded as excuse. thats why being fair supporter, I started this thread. Nothing to take away from the win. Its great win, first time ever we won the series in Lanka, so its great achievement. Link to comment
f.b.m
True, the pitch was one of the factors but so was our seam bowling. Link to comment
Sachinism
today i feel the toss was a big factor we got to bowl 2nd where Yuvi was turning the ball square but then again M&M were getting decent turn too, but they got licked lol Link to comment
ORION
Maybe yuvraj can quit batting and concentrate on becoming a specialist spinner?btw what is/was his plan re: medis the mysterious? Favourite crap bowler: doda ganesh Link to comment
flamy
We won both the matches because of our bowling. glad our batting finally came thru.. :yay: Link to comment
SachDan
Toss was very crucial in both the matches and dhoni was very lucky to win both the tosses. Especially in this track, Mendis and Murali could have easily made life difficult for the batsmen. Link to comment
Holysmoke
He is a "closeyoureyesandwhacktheballtomars" kind of batsman, just like me. Link to comment
gs
Maybe yuvraj can quit batting and concentrate on becoming a specialist spinner?btw what is/was his plan re: medis the mysterious? Favourite crap bowler: doda ganesh Plan is to get out before he comes on so as to deny him his wicket - passive aggressive! :giggle: Link to comment
gs
and sl won the first odi cuz they batted first. SL won the 96 wc cuz they batted first Aus won the 03 wc final cuz they batted first SL won the 07 wc group game cuz they batted first wat else? Srilanka chased in the '96 WC final under lights and won! Link to comment
putrevus
I dont think toss was as huge factor, it was all there to see once dhoni and Raina got out how indian batting folded and were all out within 50 overs. Srilankan thought Indians couldn't play both spinners well in same innings but those two played brilliantly, Mehala even had to remove mendis because he was going for too many runs. Link to comment
vsd2006
he has very little between the ears when it comes to batting, but somehow uses up a lot from the same place when bowling, quite amazing. Link to comment
Predator_05
Ramesh Powar was a similar case. These guys just don't look like they can bat. But then again, when Indian domestic bullies with impressive batting averages have come and gone looking ordinary at international level, what can you expect from guys who average in the twenties. To be fair, he wasn't a proper opening batsman. He batted in the top order so UP could get off to a flying start. Link to comment
Sachinism
He's like Agarkar, everyone kept talking about his potential, but he delivered on rare occasions P Kumar is going to be like that Link to comment
flamy
Ya, basically he is a pinch-hitter and not a very effective one at that. [dsr mode] But, you can trust he will give it all and throw the kitchen sink at every ball he faces. A true Indian. :isalute: Unlike, that Dhoni fellow.[/dsr mode] Link to comment
chanakya
he reminds me of Afridi when he bats. But afridi sometimes hits the ball Link to comment

Shane
.. so we escaped.. Well we certainly did, however in future games we seriously need to look to play five bowlers, coz i don't think we will have to play mendis every second game and our batting can hold its own against any other attack Link to comment
