Dravid
Let's see, He couldn't bowl, couldn't field, couldn't run between the wickets. The only thing he was good at as a player was being a very good timer of the ball and very strong on the on side. Even in batting he was crap against the short ball. One of the all time greats? Yeah right. more then 11k runs in odis's test avg. over 40 all the time thats batting LEFTY, when he was a righty :haha: led india to victory at places your mom never dreamed about so stfu and eat **** :finger: Link to comment

Yeah right. Memory deserted you? He's got MoM awards for bowling performances, there have been many times when he has chipped in with vital wickets He was one of India's best ODI batsmen for some time, Averages over 40 in Tests He was awesome on the offside, he struggled on the legside, but he went and worked extremely hard on it and came back and was able to play on the legside, pretty well at times. And even if he wasn't good on the legside, he still managed to score runs, shows how classy he is Probably India's best captain Link to comment

Yeah right. Save the criticism for some other thread. We can argue over his qualities for days without end....but lets not do it in a thread where fans are paying farewell to him. I thought anyone with a bit of sense would know that its not the thread to criticize him. Link to comment
Ram
The thread title is misleading. When I first read it, I thought he had already retired. Anyways, thats besides the point. So, the curtain comes down on the career of India's best captain and one of its finest batsman ever. Kudos Dada! Link to comment
amits
the order of seniors retiring should be ganguly - after the 2nd test after a string of single digit scores dravid - after the aus series tendulkar can play for another year & laxman for 2-3 more years(laxman is only 33) and kumble can play till whenever he wants. spinners dont get old Link to comment

Ram
Absolutely no doubt over one thing, he will definitely figure in the list of all-time best ODI batsman. From 1999-2002, Ganguly DOMINATED ODI batting, all over the world. Link to comment

I was never his greatest fan but still always respected him and had moments when I loved him to bits. Not the time to launce in to a tirade against an indian legend! Wether you like it ort not when hitsory books on indian cricket his name will present frequently and rightly so Link to comment

You were calling him geriatric in another post along with our other middle order greats. Why the flip flop? Link to comment
Chaos
Great player. At one point between 1998-2001 he played better than sachin. Great odi player and plain underachiever in tests. What a great start he had in tests too. But nonetheless a great captain who changed the attitude of the indian cricket!!! Link to comment
Laaloo
SMart move by dada. By announcing his retirement before the series, the Indian team will be forced to play him. Link to comment
ssd123
Does this mean when australia bowl him out cheaply in his first 4 innings he won't get dropped. Link to comment
Lord
SMart move by dada. By announcing his retirement before the series' date=' the Indian team will be forced to play him.[/quote'] he was gonna play over that pig badrinath. anyway, THANK YOU DADA FOR ALL THE JOYS N SMILES THAT YOU BROUGHT TO OUR FACES.U MADE US BELIEF THAT WE CAN WIN AWAY FROM HOME TOO. we will miss ya.:(( Link to comment
SachDan
let's hope Kumble doesn't hesitate in dropping him should he perform below par. This is just the kind of news which can potentially distract the team from the task ahead.. Don't think he'll be dropped for the entire series...yes unless we lost first two tests and Dada performs miserably in that. Link to comment
