Rajiv
Where is the freaking crowd, all tests had poor crowd turnout. I was hoping delhi would have more atleast but nothing spectacular Looks like it has to be Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata for the bells and whistles.. No fun with loud cheers Link to comment
bharat297
Its terrible ... This is Dada's last match. This is VVS's 100th match. This is our chance to beat Australia in a Test series (we've waited 4 years for this). It makes me so sad to see these stadiums half empty. Link to comment
Aussiefanguy
2020 is rubbish, this is the real game. IPL or ICL or IXD or whatever you call it is screwing the game completely... :( Link to comment
SachDan
Rajeev is spot on.Only Chennai,Mumbai,Kolkata,Bangalore and to a certain extent Delhi can bring in decent crowds for Test Matches. Link to comment
Guest Hiten.
Not only that... but the amount of cricket that is being supplied to the crowd is ridiculous. India will play England in about 4-5 days after this test ends. Are you farking kidding me ? How do the fans manage the time if the games are played at this stupid rate ? Our scheduling has to be reviewed by ICC, if they want to milk $$ out of India Link to comment
Cricketics
i thought delhi had a decent crowd..yaa not any regular type.. but still was good decent turn up.. Link to comment
bharat297
Eden Gardens would have been packed to the rafters ... Imagine ... Laxman's 100th ... Dada's final. Link to comment

NOT AT ALL Apart from being a metro. A home ground for Sehwag, Ishant, Gambo, Mishra and kumbles fav ground..it had to be packed I dont even have enough confidence in mumbai..but can always count on kolkata, bangalore and chennai ( unless hari has drugged the town ) Link to comment
Rajiv
Eden Gardens would have been packed to the rafters ... Imagine ... Laxman's 100th ... Dada's final. ..sounds great, but better to have a quieter ground from that perspective to wave off the pressure.. Link to comment
Rajiv
lol..cricinfo comment Kevo from Aus: "Australia may fill their home grounds, but don't forget the lack of coverage in the local city if the ground isn't filled - I wonder would the Indians dare do this?" No way boss. None of those cissy announcements, "Now the Sydney viewers can join us," or "We are cutting off Test cricket to go to Channel 9 news." You can;t do that here in India! Link to comment

In Australia, around some radius of the ground's location they do not telecast the match at all except for the highlights..... not sure about this, but I remember reading this somewhere Link to comment
Sachinism
Mark Nichollas just mentioned that people are being forced to buy tickets in bundles for all 5 days instead just the day they want to come in on which retard at BCCI came up with that idea seriously, you'd have to have sh!t for brains to think this will benefit anyone Link to comment

Gambit
Turnout is about 5000. Which isn't bad by Western standards. The expensive ticket prices is the biggest reason for the relatively moderate turnout. Cheapest ticket is Rs.1000. Link to comment

Desi Cartman
^ yes its stupid to force people to buy tickets for 5 days. I mean why cant they sell daily tickets for say 300 rather than selling a 5 day ticket for 1000 :hmmmm2: Link to comment
Sachinism
they changed this rule last year. Now all cricket matches are live in all cities :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: They should change it back this is pathetic, Its no fun watching without the crowd there to support the team Link to comment
Desi Cartman
They should change it back this is pathetic, Its no fun watching without the crowd there to support the team yea right ! try living in Melbourne when u cant even watch the boxing day test over X'mas break just because u happen to live in the city where they are playing. They changed the rules because Channel 9 was able to convince them so it means that its probably profitable for for both CA and Channel 9 Link to comment
Willow_on_fire
Nagpur crowd is busy shopping for oranges...is'nt Nagpur famous for its oranges?..I feel so.. Link to comment
Sachinism
^^ What's the solution to bring in more crowds? Lower ticket prices should be the main one If what Nicholas said about having to buy tickets in bundles is true, that is another massive concern Link to comment
