Just because a person was a good finance minister was no reason to make him the PM.A country effected by terrorism needs a PM with some spine which our present PM doesn't have. This PM and his government have repeatedly sacrificed national security in the name of friendly tieswith terrorist nations. Every time there has been an attack...these people have either opened more routes to that loserland ordone more business with them. PM is a one track minded person who can't think beyond economy, little realising that nothing flourishes in insecurity. As for the president...the less said about this choron ki bhehen, the better.
BJP started the friendly ties, didn't they?

All you guys want young politicians. But when your son one day might say that I want to be a politician, most of you will say, "oh boy, be a doctor, or a lawyer. they earn a lot of money...study hard and live comfortably for the rest of your life"......."we need a young politician" etc...thats all we say....we always talk about "somebody" doing the thing...we never say..." *I*'ll be the young politician, who will fix everything India" *I*'ll do this...etc... All YOU guys seem to EXACTLY to know how to fix everything, then why are you talking on forums, go be the PM and give those speeches and supposedly fix everything.

I think of all the leaders we had in recent past, Abdul Kalam inspired me the most. For his achievements and his noble thoughts. Unfortunately, in our country, the top most office in the democracy is the most useless.

The only gutsy prime minister India has ever had was the great LAL BAHADUR SASHTRI....all the others until now were medicore or softcore like Manmohan Singh.....does'nt work that way.
Agree. I never liked Vajpayee either. Though I respected his dedication and patriotism. The guy slept half through his tenure. The Kandhar episode will be remembered as one of his biggest failures. The ones before that were really useless fellows. Narasimha Rao, Deve Gauda, VP Sing....og God!!

Fully agree. The state of a society always reflects the people only. The politics, the media are nothing but mirrors.

you forget a certain IG...this shyt probably wouldn't have happened if she was around. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/rabbis-body-found-with-legs-tied/392318/ Rabbi’s body found with legs tied
Mumbai: There is evidence that Rabbi Gavriel Holzberg, his wife Rivka and their three friends died in a brutal manner during the Terror siege on Nariman House. Photographs taken after the shootout give a vivid picture of the brutality unleashed on the Holzbergs and their friends after the terrorists took over the house on Wednesday. The photographs, taken by former corporator of the area Puran Doshi who entered the building soon after the NSG operation was over, speak volumes of the nightmare the family and their friends must have gone through before they died. The Rabbi’s body was found in a room on the second floor, with his legs sticking into the hall where his wife’s body was found. Rivka’s body was found near the legs of the Rabbi. His legs had been tied with a belt. His wife’s limbs were, however, not bound. Only the postmortem can shed light on whether the Rabbi or his wife had died first. Two other Israeli girls were found dead with their hands and legs bound. They were lying next to each other. Another body was found in a decomposed state, indicating he was killed when the attack had begun. Photographs taken after the operation also show the bodies of the two terrorists, covered in blood, on the fourth floor.
--------------------- my only hope is that this brutality gathers a large amount of press in israel. and i hope they can come protect us from our own cowardice. to the pakistanis reading this. please do not be alarmed...it's quite obvious that this points to: a) a RAW conspiracy to to implicate muslims, and further evidence of why you are lucky to be a muslim living in pakistan instead of living in constant persecution under hindu tyranny. b) mossad conspiracy to undermine muslim cause. just like 9/11 also , the mounting stack of evidence against pakistan can be discounted since a) it's all knee-jerk evidence b) elections are coming up in india, and we are trying to deflect attention away from our internal problems. c) you are victims too, please see marriott crater. nevermind that you created and sustained the monster for many years. g) for godhra

And Indira did the same in 1971.

Yes, he has been better than the others. The nuclear test was a gutsy beginning.

I disagree .. ABVP's govt didnt have balls to use air force even within Indian air space. We kept sending regiments and they kept killing them. I remember watching ABVP begging US to allow him to use Air force within his own country. PS: It was the first and the last time I ever said "Ben-ch*d" in front of my parents. They were show truck full of bodies coming back from Kargil and the reporter was saying that army is asking where is air force and PM's office was saying we are trying to convince US ... I jaid "yeh Be-c***" pagal hai " and then didnt move for next 40 mins

He was never supposed to be PM' date=' the only reason why he got the job was because Sonia resigned after Kawngress won the election in '04. The job was forcefully thrust upon him, which is why he looks so out of place. I wouldn't blame him at all, he is doing the best he can even though he isn't cut out for the position.[/quote'] agree

Why are we surprised? When Congress took office in 2004, the first thing it did was to scrap the federal anti-terrorism law that strengthened witness protection and enhanced police powers. They then stalled similar anti-terror legislation in Gujarat, which the BJP tried to introduce. It was Congress that bowed to the fundamentalists and banned Rushdie's Satanic verses in 1988. Even the BJP don't get off scot free. Wasn't it them who released 300 (!) militants in 1999 in return for the hijacked passengers in Afghanistan? Among the released was LSE educated Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, who later slit Daniel Pearl's throat in full view of the cameras. One word sums up India's approach to terrorism. Soft.

There is no difference between any political party being in power in India. There might be the odd politician who might have the odd vision which ends up helping the country like Nehru for education, Rajeev Gandhi for technology, and Vajpayee for infrastructure/highways but all in all the entire system is rotten to the core. Our politicians have presided over landmarks like Shah Bano, Sikh riots, Babri Masjid, Mandal, Rubaiya Sayeed, brutality against Kashmiri Pundits, bribing MPs for votes, Kargil, Kandahar, parliament bombing, Gujarat just to name a few things over the past two decades cutting across party lines, age, caste, and gender. How can we expect such people to do anything productive for the teaming billions the majority of whom vote along caste/communal lines? Dhondy : We released 3 not 300 terrorists in Kandahar, one of them Maulana Masoor Azhar who paid us back by launching Jaish-e-Mohammad - now one of the dreaded organizations and responsible for the parliament bombing maybe.

I think you are only kidding yourself if you think there is NO difference in the attitude of BJP as compared to Congress when it comes to terrorism. BJP has been far more proactive towards tackling this problem. We cannot see their act of returning the 3 terrorists as 'Soft act' because the choice was taken out of their hand by inept handling of the situation when the plane was IN India by the agencies. And the victory in Kargil (through military and diplomacy) is one of the few bright spots in our fight against Pakistani sponsered war. It was an intelligence failure that led to it in the first place. Congress on other hand has been appeasing the minorities to the HILT, taking out the tough laws that NO DOUBT will be brought back now and generally being SOFT on this issue. If Modi becomes PM and goes on his extremist right wing agenda, after being elected by an angered public wanting some real action on this front, I would say the PCs on this country deserve it since they were apathetic for so long.

This whole arrangement of a prime minister totally devoid of any political authority has completely degraded the governments ability to take decisive steps, especially in matters like internal security. Manmohan Singh is powerless to select his cabinet collegues, every decision has to have the stamp of Sonia G, the ministers dont pay heed to the PM, the entire concept of collective responsibility has been reduced to a sorry joke. It was the arrogance of Sonia G that has led to a monumentally incompetent person being incharge of home minister for so long. I DREAD to think if such a dispensation comes to power for another 5 years, it will reduce India to a banana republic, if it is not one already. The congress has to be punished for inflicting such a mockery of governance for 5 years, otherwise the wont learn that is certain.

It was a victory at what price? Compared to the number of intruders how many Indian soldiers died?
