DomainK Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 When I look at Dr. Manmohan Singh, he commands respect for his knowledge and his experience, but he does not inspire me at a moment of crisis. He looks spineless, courage less. I hate the way he gives his speech. Mostly reading out or a memorized passage. Its so mechanical, the voice lacks emotions. When in a moment like this, I think of the leadership- The PM, the CM and the president, I feel hopeless. Utterly hopeless. Its time we find a better leader. I have seen enough of these oldies. I want to see a young man with enthusiasm. Who can lead the nation in the true sense to the challenges of future in fronts like economics, technology and security. We want an Obama in India now. A revolutionary leader. The comparison may sound ridiculous to some, but I want someone who can do to the nation what a Dhoni is doing to Indian cricket. That's leadership in its true meaning. People like Manmohan Singh are good in functional roles, not roles of leadership.
Ram Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 I can sympathasize and recognize with the sentiments of the OP. In tough times, all of us yearn for strong leadership. But lets not forget, good leadership isnt about delivering powerful speeches or sounding inspirational on T.V. Manmohan Singh is a fine individual, a true patriot and loves India as much as anyone on this world. Unfortunately, he, like most of the other honest leaders, is shackled by the inadequacies of the Indian system. Manmohan Singh may want to stop terror attacks, he couldnt possibly go an patrol the roads and waterways of the major cities himself. If we EVER hope to stop these terror attacks, what we need is a comprehensive revamp of our counte-terror measures. Till that happens, it doesnt matter who comes to power, terrorists will continue to wreak havoc. The bitter reality is, irrespective of who is in power or how genuine his/her intentions are, we, as a nation, have to collectively endure this kind of trauma for a long time to come. Its our fate, our destiny and we cannot escape from it.
Rajiv Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Every leader except Modi has the "lallu" type persona I was mimicking Vilasrao and Manmohan to my father, I wish I could explain that Vilarao with the typical look of 6-7 big bellied mustached men behind him and the typical " woh sarkar dekh rahin hain, hum sabh kar rahe hain" Manmohan seems like someone has put a gun behind him and asked him to give a speech No wonder terrorists can take advantage Oh, and the macchis ki tili our president - if it went her way she would have said namaste to the terrorist as well I'd like someone like Arun Jaitley if I were to pick someone

Modi is a nut case and Rahul Gandhi is a new version of Rajiv Gandhi with lower intelligence ... and india's future elections will be between these 2 .. Things are so pathetic that if a seedha guy wants to run for college elections his opponents try to kill him and his family ... so where will the future leaders come from ?

This PM and his government have repeatedly sacrificed national security in the name of friendly tieswith terrorist nations. Every time there has been an attack...these people have either opened more routes to that loserland ordone more business with them. PM is a one track minded person who can't think beyond economy,little realising that nothing flourishes in insecurity. As for the president...the less said about this choron ki bhehen,the better.

The job was forcefully thrust upon him, which is why he looks so out of place. I wouldn't blame him at all, he is doing the best he can even though he isn't cut out for the position.

The problem with Indian democracy is that we never have any idea who is going to lead us when we go to vote. We dont get to chose the man who would lead the nation. Once we have voted, the parties manipulate, play dirty games and then chose a leader that suits them. I like the Americal democracy more where they see their leader and vote for the person. Someone like Manmohan Singh can become a PM in this system only.

I know we can if we wanted to, but I do not think Indian government has the guts to do it. Israelis would not think twice before doing this. In this dire time, extra ordinary action needs to be done. I am proud of our people and our military, but ashamed of our government and system.

We can very well attack POK camps by air and I don't think Pakistanis have balls to use nuclear power when under SO much pressure by US. Training camps cannot be destroyed by covert operations. You maybe able to kill a few selected people by sending in moles etc, but thats about all.

However, our govenrment is spineless, so nothing will happen. Give it a few months and everything will be forgotten. This type of attack will happen again.
