Mr Kapitaan Obvious! He is from south, will have a strong accent. He was worse in the 80s on Ek Duje Ke Liye. He got better and in the 90s, he had lost some of the accent. Especially for RD Burman in Gardish. He said 'Khwaab' like a native speaker. But then again, it is not as if it is spoken by a native speaker of Urdu. Actually Sonu Nigam's songs in the south is pretty good. He has put in a lot of effort to sound native. Very great effort. Even English spoken by south indians is heavily accented.

true that....the highly educated ones have the worst accent..for example software engineers who work in the silicone valley in california. I have a few school buddies who live there....whenever they visit me....I don't find any change in their accent after each growing year...:cantstop: The problem with majority of these guys is.... they feel that their accent blends very well with the american accent...:haha: bcoz of 'sophesticated' people like this....Hollywood does'nt stop churning out movies about Indians with funny accents.....full marks to 'highly' educated software programmers from South India...:two_thumbs_up:

Turn the tables and it'll be just as bad - if not worse.

I don't understand why people are getting touchy over what I said. Personally, I am a big fan of Urdu and it's subtle nature and get miffed when it is butchered and just made it known with SP being the lead butcher. Now, I don't even understand any South Indian language so if you are saying that some North Indian singer butchers that, I'll gladly accept your word on it and will say that they should not be singing songs which they can't master.
