they got white washed by england(:haha:) and they dont really have the players for T20 at the moment.amla and a washed up gibbs for T20?.it is funny how the this team have been so good at tests but are regressing in the limited overs game.maybe it is due to their coach who doesnt care for it.

SA are a completely different side without smith as capt.he is a brave, uncompromising man n infuses the same spirit within the team on the other hand we have botha, who the hell made him captain?is it a joke?he hasnt even cemented his place in th XI.made some stupid decisions today too. BUT ITS WRONG to say they are regressing in t20/odis.they have some fantastic players in devillers, albie morkel, n now duminy. also they have been affected by retirement of pollock n kemp going to ICL

I don think Saffies care a damn about their performances in ODIs and T20s. They have their goal set right. To become the No.1 test side and they are just a few months away from that... ODI and T20 triumphs do not make a team great and its test cricket. During the late 90s, under Hansie Cronje they had an all conquering ODI team (the fact that they chocked in finals is a different story). But no ones remembers those meaningless ODIs victories in Sharjah, and other bilateral and trination tournaments. While they were winning ODI tournaments, Australia were slowly climbing the test mountain... Good that South Africa realized that test prowess is what makes a team great. I hope India too realizes that very soon so that we get there... in another couple of years

i agree with you that tests are much more important but as long as we are playing international ODIs and T20s then we should aim to win all of them.thinking that they are inferior and not worth the effort is a bad attitude to have .

I really hope that they lose the ODI series aswell with Ian Healey having orgasms about how the Australians rule the world. There's almost something endearing or romantic about a player flourishing in the test format and failing in the walt disney versions. Maybe its just personal taste but I like to see a pure legspinner or an out and out swing bowler return from an ODI thrashing to absolutely annihilate the same line up with the red ball. In fact, I'd prefer that to a player running through the sides in all formats. So when an upcoming, promising swing bowler like Wayne Parnell was getting carted around the park, I had a cheeky smile on my face. I hope he doesnt waste his time or energy on the IPL or something and goes the Mitchell Johnson route. So please; Steyn, Morkel and co. bowl rubbish, get thrashed and make the people of South Africa lose interest in this format. You did that superbly in England. Same thing for batsmen aswell. For me, the fact that Laxman isnt a good odi player actually increases my respect for him. Same thing for Slater and Sehwag to an extent. And its also nice how South Africa has a limited overs captain with an amusingly shaped face and who is a complete pie chucker (in that he chucks his pies). His retarded looks if anything, are very apt.

^^ Are u a Saffie, its OK wen it comes to the Safricans. But wen it comes to us we need to be the best in all three forms .... And the point CBF I presume is trying to make is that ... if Safricans need to be the Cricketing World Beater ... they need to do it in all forms ... There is no doubt that Test Matches are the highest order to judge cricketing merit ... but the rest too need to be adpated to and that too quickly !!!

They're not a bad team.. They were the best team of the last T20 WC, till they got beaten by us. They were the only unbeaten side in the tournament till then. Their weaknesses in the opening partnership is hurting them massively. Smith is injured and Gibbs seems a shadow of his former self. However, Kallis simply does not have the power game to be T20 player. Remember how his inadequecies got brutally exposed in IPL? He may be able to play a role in ODI, but certainly not in T20. Amla is an interesting case. Even though he's been primarily a test player till now, I think he has the potential to be a decent ODI bat, much in the mould of Mohammmed Yousuf or a Jayawardene. AB Devilliers is a handy ODI bat and Duminy seems an excellent find. In the bowling department, they arent that worse off either, with Steyn, the Morkels, Ntini to choose from. Once Smith returns and they sort out the batting order, they should start winning again.

I think they need to look more into their youth reserves ... they were slack in the field today, no specialist death bowler ... is a worry ... and they need to have the zest to win ... this Saffie team looked almost disinterested in the last 2 T20 matches ... I would like to see a team more on these lines ... Smith Gibbs ABDV Duminy Kemp Albie Boucher Morne Botha Ntini Steyn
