The guy barely came back from various injuries and has yet to bowl long spells with any consistency yet you presume he's fit? This whole problem with Irfan/Sreesanth/Patel/Munaf is that, frankly, none of these losers have raised their game consistently and sufficiently to warrent a regular place as the third seamer. We'd be truely farked if either ZK or Ishant get injured.

Boss, Sreesanth bowled a 11 over spell, with controlled aggression and picked up wickets too. even when some one dropped a catch in slips he was not reacting, later when queried relied that- "if i can get him edge me once, i can get him do that again."and he certainly did it! he claimed he was bowling at 140k with out going full throttle. if he bolws too long a spell again , he may break down! he is not built like a fast bowler!

I like how you left out the 2nd innings where he went wicket less and I also think you're exaggerating: At other times he was largely ineffective, unable to extract any movement off the pitch. The pace was also generally low, usually hovering around the 130k mark. There were a few exceptions, such as during his duel with Mohammad Kaif, who was hauling Central out of the hole caused by the failure of the top order. Kaif dispatched him with a pull to the right of mid-on, Sreesanth's reply was a 136kmh bouncer, delievered with a "Let's see you pull that" to the batsman. "I know the pace is still there," Sreesanth said. "I don't want to break down just for the sake of bowling fast. Whenever I gave the effort it's 140-plus." There were other Sreesanth moments. He bowled off an absurdly long run-up, and on one delivery towards the end of the day, he nearly stopped halfway to the crease. Everyone assumed he would walk back to his mark, but amazingly he speeded up again and bowled as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. But the point still remains. You don't pick Sreesanth off of ONE performance since he's been injured pretty much most of last year.

rkt.india Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Sreeshanth is bowling poorly in duleep trophy leaking a lot of runs and is of no use until he gets his rhythm back. India dont want Sreeshanth of England tour, we need SA tour Sreesanth, Try new blood otherwise......
The Outsider Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I like how you left out the 2nd innings where he went wicket less and I also think you're exaggerating: Err.....he bowled 10 odd overs for 15 odd runs on a last day pitch in India - hardly something to be critical about and has picked up 5 wickets in the Duleep final again till now.
