vadodaravictor Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Try changing frequency (or channel...whatever it is called on your router). Most of them default to 6 or 7. Try setting it to something else.
coffee_rules Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I always change the channel, default SSID, enabler WEP on the router. Every other neighbor with a router uses default setting. Also, check if the neighbors router's signal strength is as strong as the one you have. Changing the default setting will help reduce the interferrence. Is the wireless modem in your laptop inbuilt or do you have some kind of a wireless adaptor connected to the laptop. If you are working in the same room as the router get a wire connection. Why use wireless?

TaNk Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 change the channel from 11 to 2-4-6-9 etc and try again ... if you have other routers around ur house on same channel it does slow ur speed down .. also make sure router is not close to metal or power lines.
