EnterTheVoid Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 More stable than windows. Also, the people that wrote Ubuntu, they wrote it out of their own free time. They are not paid to do it.

vvvslaxman Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I dropped my toshiba laptop and hard drive got damaged. was lying unusable for months. Then i decided to install ubuntu.. it gave me error. Then i decided to use only 20 gb hoping it would avoid corrupted areas. Bam. it worked. I am able to use the PC with linux running on it !! Useful atleast for browsing.
Dark Warrior Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Mint is better after Ubuntu came up with unity.
vvvslaxman Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I used unity tweak tool to customize to look like windows xp.. didn't like it.
Kalia_Test Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I use Mint 17 - Cinnamon as a dual boot....works like a charm...no heating, very stable and does all things I need a comp for ( browse, watch videos, download torrents, etc )... Mint - Mate is also good but I prefer Cinnamon...
