India too good these days

True that' date=' we lost 2 quick wickets, [b']one Ghajini Silva heartbreak and another a freak dismissal heartbreak of Gambhir. But YS and VS played supreme, like Aussies (the dominant aussies, not the current one). Even though wickets fall, they dont care, and scoring at a very rapid pace. Wickets did not bother them one bit. Amazing mental strength - frankly, Viru's dont care and play freely rubs onto the other players these days.
Was there umpiring mistake again or did SRT suck as usual?

Just to be sure' date=' is that 3 in a row now?[/quote'] yep. i dont understand whether umpires today knew that sachin was given out wrongly in the last two games. If that umpire gamini had little brain, he wud have thought about it twice before making that decision. one could easily see middle and off stump.

Yep NZ in NZ should be interesting. Although I have no clue how they are #4. Such is the gulf between top 3 and rest. O wait... the Assies are getting PWNED like Pakis. So make that top 2. :D
NZ have been a top class ODI unit..just no good in tests thats all.Fully deserve their #4 STATUS ATM.just check their win percentage.Competed brilliantly with sides like SA and Eng in En****** now just beat Aus in the 1st ODI.

There are still serious doubts about NZ’s batting abilities. They’re too reliant on McCullum and Taylor and need one of the two to fire in a match if they want to win a match. All the other players are both quite new and unproven (Guptill, Elliot) or very inconsistent (Fulton). We have match-winning batsman from positions 1 through 7 and two of the world’s best seam bowlers. Now, if you rely on probability, you’d know where to put your money in.

i have heard that the pitches for odis will be flat too-that would not go well for the kiwis.

Cowboysfan- don't forget that these pitches can change in an instant when they know the opposition subcontinental!! India would have to adjust to the tennis-ball-bounce on these pitches which aren't very pacey. This is the biggest threat to India's hopes as opposed to the NZ team. On paper, India should win easily, but I think the conditions will make it closer than it would be on paper. For the Indian batters, the timing will be a little tricky but they should be fine. India must also show the coorect attitude and application: Danny Morrison once said that the last India team to go there was the worst touring side he had ever seen in NZ and they did not want to be there. I hope they can learn their lessons from that poor showing and bounce back in tremendous style- watch out for Ishant Sharma, especially in the tests (btw, kudos to BCCI for organising 3 tests as opposed to 2)

India never played better in Lanka: Ranatunga Ex-Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga said India has never played better and paid tribute to the vision of India cricket administrators. More... India never played better in Lanka: Ranatunga Agencies Posted: Feb 07, 2009 at 1414 hrs IST Colombo: Highly impressed by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men's attacking brand of cricket, former Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga said India has never played better here. "They have never played better here," Ranatunga said paying tribute to what he termed the vision of the Indian cricket administrators. "Their planning is good and they have set goals in their mind," Ranatunga said. India has already taken a 4-0 lead in the five-match series against Sri Lanka and the final match is scheduled in Colombo on Sunday. Dismissing notions that he had problems with the Indian Cricket Board during his 11-month tenure as the chief of Sri Lanka Cricket, Ranatunga said, "I had excellent relations with (former BCCI President) Mr (Sharad) Pawar and (current BCCI President) Mr Shashank Manohar", Ranatunga said. Ranatunga said he remained unimpressed by Twenty20 and believed Indian stars like Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid struggled in Sri Lanka last year because of too much of Twenty20. On Sri Lanka's poor form, Ranatunga said the administrators were also to be blamed for the debacles. Insisting that the administrators should have ensured that the players maintain their focus, Ranatunga said, "This is due to unwanted and unprofessional people entering cricket administration." Never a fan of the Indian Premier League, Ranatunga also questioned the Sri Lankan players' commitment to the nation. "Players must answer the question which is greater ? your country, your parents or the money?" asked Ranatunga, referring to the players' refusal to tour England in May in order to play in the Indian Premier League. He felt Sri Lankan players were talented enough but the batting was not clicking at the moment. "Our players are the most talented in the world. Without a doubt we have the best two spinners in the world (in Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis)...But the batsmen are not clicking," Ranatunga said
