Finally, after India's successful and Pak's not so successful last few matches, I managed to free myself up for a bit, looking forward to spending some time discussing good, quality cricket. Imagine my chagrin, when logging into this site, the first thing which caught my attention was various avatars of owls in distress! As a nature lover I was flabbergasted. I was also taken aback, surprised, depressed and shocked. Owls are nature's most harmless and wise creatures, always ready to share a mouse or two over tea, caring two hoots for what anyone else would think. And here were these endangered birds, in various un-natural poses. God alone knows what torture would have forced these creatures to abandon their natural dignity and pose thus. I have noticed an owl in H4te's avatar before and winced everytime I caught a site of it. But then the guy's user name said it all. I wasnt overally concerned. . I had had various interesting conversations with learned owls before and though not one of them had replied to one of my questions with a 'O Ryly!' maybe it was a trained owl or an aberration. But when responsible posters flamy and holy_smoke catch and torture these birds to evict unnatural reactions from them, its too much for me. Let me tell my esteemed posters that though these birds might not be toilet trained, the south is not dirty soley because of them! And butt secks? Owls never have butt secks. Its always straight missionary position for them. To top it all, there is a website mentioned in those avatars advertising the selling of more of these dignified birds. No doubts these poor creatures will be taught to diss out more lame humour such as 'hooters', or 'O ryly ryly' . Stick with Sachin I say. And leave the other birds alone.

graphic23 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I treat my owl with respect. We don't have dinners together but he likes the dungeon where he lives with a couple of chains to make sure that he is safe there.

Owls are being subjected to all kinds of vile and inhumane torture - ranging from smoking bongs laced with LSD, forcibly wearing tight pirate caps which don't fit their small heads, big heavy chains which outweigh them and being openly sold as anal sex merchants. These acts all run contrary to the ICF animal rights charter. From now on, anyone seen exploiting an owl will immediately be issued an infraction and ignorance of multiple warnings will be punished by castration, in accordance with the main legislative system of ICF - the sharia law (which is really nice you know, but only in certain states. Ours isn't one of those states, in case you were wondering).

Infact, as an owl lover myself, I'd asked it to pick its on hat. The eye patch, though, I wanted my dear friend to wear it to scare the EMC a little more. It adds the extra, "Arrrrrrrrrr" to the board. So, in the end, my friend, the pirate owl, and I are just happy with our friendship. Stop giving evil ideas to the owl in the name of "animal rights".

Reports from our esteemed EMC SPY BOTS reveal that you POKED OUT THE OWL EYES in brutal fashion with your toothbrush and later attempted to cover up the empty socket with an eye patch. This cover up has not escaped the surveillance of the EMC. You will now hand over the wounded owl to EMC custodians and then we shall take it upon ourselves to decide your FATE, SCUMBAG.
