Unfortunately, that was a disgraceful thrown match and the treatment of that team when they got back was justified. Waqar i don't think .I know it is hard to accept for u when a bowler of waqar's calibre got slaughtered .But Waqar can be very expensive some times . No surprises there .

Imran was accused by Qasim Pmar who played with him, he gave the list of ladies who were supplied to Imran to fix the matches! the man is considered as the greatest captain/alrounder! enough said! Wasim Akram is a proven cheat. acknowledged as a main conspirator in losing his country's matches ! shud be treated like a pig in the gutter. but again glorified as the greatest left arm fast bowler by their fans. how low they can think of their self respect or do they have any! Inzy, the man who starts all his speeches with praise to God, but stoops so low to accept money and lose matches! what a paragon of virtue and character! fans think he performs under pressure, sorry, performs indecent acts for money, like losing matches! these guys have set the standards for others to follow, no wonder the likes of Asif and Akthar are acting like crack pots!

Nope, Wasim and Waqar were near the end, Shoaib was as usual unfit....but they all gave it 100% and Sachin was too good. Btw, Wasim bowled well and should have got Tendulkar but dropped catch at 57-2 chasing 274

You couldn't have chosen two better matches to throw away We didn't play you in 99 WC 1st round...was super 6s and we were virtually through to semis with you guys virtually on the plane back home...and I don't think that was fixed.

The information minister, a baldy, i think Mushahid Hussain said the same and exhorted the pak team!. Pak fell flat on their nose! but Pak earlier 'lost' to Bangladesh and the proud losing captain proclaimed at the presentation," now, no one can stop our brothers BD from gaining test status"! wow! for a few dollars more, the good can become bad and ugly!

We had to win against Pak and NZ and had to have some results to go our way. Ind-Pak were a very critical game. And do you remember Akram telling Shastri at the toss that it would be a good practice game for Pak? Some 'practice' it turned out to be. :hysterical: Prasad owned Pak two world cup games in a row and poor horn tooting Pak fans were left stunned as their green outfit came crashing down :D:cantstop:

Akram led the side during the tournament in England when two of their defeats - to Bangladesh and India - came under suspicion. Akram has in the past denied any match-fixing took place and said his conscience is clear. "I am ready to appear before any commission and want this maligning campaign against the Pakistan team and players to end once and for all," Akram told BBC Sport Online last month. Akram, who has suffered from diabetes since 1995, is currently taking part in an awareness campaign around Pakistan as a spokesperson for a pharmaceutical company. Saturday's hearing Justice Karamat Bhandari's one-man commission held its seventh hearing Saturday, at which two Pakistani journalists appeared. Waheed Khan of Pakistan's largely circulated The News and freelancer Zahid Maqsood told the court they had heard rumours of match-fixing but couldn't substantiate the allegations. "I covered the full World Cup and heard people saying that Pakistan's defeat against Bangladesh was fixed but nobody gave any proof," Khan said. The inquiry was set up following claims from former South African cricket chief and current World Cup 2003 director Ali Bacher that he had been told matches were fixed. Ali Bacher has so far refused to help the commission. Those claims were backed up by former Pakistan captain Majid Khan, who was chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board during the 1999 tournament, and former pace bowler Sarfraz Nawaz. However, although he made the claims in front of South Africa's King Commission, Bacher has so far declined to appear before this inquiry. The commission urged Bacher to provide material or record his statement to substantiate allegations of match-fixing, but Bacher has not responded as yet. Khan said that Bacher's statement would be crucial. "Since Dr Bacher first levelled allegations of match-fixing in the 1999 World Cup, his statement would be crucial and he must provide the material," he said. Maqsood confirmed to the commission that match-fixing rumours surrounded Pakistan's World Cup defeats. "I did not cover the Pakistan-Bangladesh match, but heard a lot of rumours about the match being fixed. However, no one gave any solid proof," he said. "An Indian journalist told me that Pakistan would lose the match, but he too had no material to substantiate those claims." Fixing denied Justice Bhandari was appointed in May this year and started his proceedings in September. Four top Pakistan players - current captain Waqar Younis, Moin Khan, Saeed Anwar and Inzamam-ul-Haq - denied any match-fixing while recording their statements last month. Justice Malik Mohammad Qayyum conducted Pakistan's first judicial inquiry in 1998 and 1999. It saw former captain Salim Malik and all-rounder Ata-ur-Rehman banned for life while six others, including Wasim and Waqar, were fined. You were never gonna batter NZ by the margin required and Pakistan always had a match v Zimbabwe to go through to semis. That Pakistan match was your biggest match and you won, fair do's....great it was at time of Kargil, which means that it musta been tense in the crowd. I wasn't in Manchester for that one. Btw, I don't think it was fixed.
