cowboysfan
I would rather we get the no.1 spot after beating NZ in NZ..i think we will shut our critics then. The last thing i want to see is us getting the #1 spot now and only botch it up when we leave sub-continent. Priority for the next game should be to enhance the role of youngsters in the side. you want us to lose the next game?:omg: Link to comment
Show_stopper
you want us to lose the next game?:omg: No you misunderstood me..I don't mind if we lose the next game so long as we give he reserve guys go. That doesn't mean we have to lose now, does it?:winky: Link to comment
Ram
If we win tomorrow and become no.1, it will be one of the great days of my life. Irrespective of what the rankings say, we ARE the no.1 team in the world anyway. :yay: Link to comment
riya
We need to be at the number 1 in both formats of the game . Link to comment

Show_stopper
Guys..just read we WON'T be number 1 even if we win the 5th ODI. SA 125 Ind 122 Aus 121 NZ 117 If we win the 5th ODI our rating will go up to 123 points. I prefer getting it if and when we beat NZ and looks like it will have to be so. Link to comment

NZ ae gonna be much tougher than SL i believe.their understrength side sans,Oram, styris n ryder is thrashing aus in aus.so it wont be easy at all. Link to comment

Show_stopper
^ Rox you realizing that now? NZ have a very accomplished ODI unit. They have done brilliantly against SA,ENG,Aus in the opposition's backyard. Their win percentage is one of the best in the world right now!! Its a different matter in Tests though. Link to comment
Show_stopper
but dude I ran the predictor... Here is the article i referred to.. http://www.cricketnirvana.com/news/international/2009/february/news-20090206-130.html I am not aware of Predictor or how it works. So have no idea if it tallies with ICC's calculations. But it seems to me a win against a lowly ranked side shouldn't fetch 3 rating points?! BigCricket
India drop to 3rd spot It was a bad results for India and we lost the winning stick and also World No.2 spot :((:((:((:whack::whack: Check latest ranking: http://yourworld.blog.co.in/2009/02/08/india-v-sri-lanka-sri-lanka-won-by-68-runs/ It means we might be drop further if NZ beat Aussi in all upcomming matches :whack: Link to comment
EnterTheVoid
Tracking India's ODI ranking the goal is to get to no 1 by the end year. we are just at the beginning of the year. give our team time, we'll get there Link to comment
BigCricket
Yes I also thinking about same but we need to adopt winning way, we can win this match if we have 1 good faster and I am sure you know who is. Also Dhoni should rested someone else and bring Sachin in this match as he is not good touch and he might get some practice. What you say? Link to comment
Show_stopper
Nothing to lose sleep over.We won't be kept down for long.I am happy we got to see some youngsters today. Link to comment
