The answer to it is that those people who faced the trauma, or those who were killed were actually nervous and thinking negative about their future. For ex. Those people who died in plain crash would have bee thinking of some tragedy all along their way or before and hence they were attracted to tragedy. whatever you say or believe, it happens.. then why is finey still alive?

Oddly enough, my first taste of this WAS The Secret (IIRC). But, once the afterglow of the movie vanished, I was left quite unimpressed. And then, somehow once again, it found its way to me (I know you can appreciate what that feels like :) ). I constantly dabble in ethereal, supernatural discussions and it's no surprise that I came across it again. As for the best sources, it is all subjective. We all take different meanings from the same message and learn different lessons from the same experience. All I can say is: When the student is ready, the teacher appears. I'm being elusive because I'm a leetle jaded trying to explain the concept to some people. The references to The Secret are a good place to forage, I might add. Oh, and it's all KOSHER :D :winky:

When we desire something strongly, what we are actually doing is trying to overcome doubt. We think about what we want with bated breath and a tight longing heart when somewhere deep within us we are quietly shaking our head and fearing the worst. Desiring something is as easy as thinking: I want this.

flamy Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 OK. What I meant was, we are conditioned to think that Desire is what makes us miserable. "Be desireless and thus be happy" But, it is not so. What constitutes that feeling of despondency when pursuing something that you wish for from the bottom of your heart is FEAR and DOUBT. And thus, people are afraid of new desires. We are tempted to run behind something but then "remember" the hurt that comes with it and give up too soon. And those that don't give up, somehow get themselves entangled into thinking that "no matter what (meaning - facing a million hardships)" - they will still get what they want. But why should it be so difficult? Wanting something and getting it is as simple as just wishing for that thing you want and enjoy that feeling of pure desire - that thrilling feeling in the abdomen, that little special dance of the heart, that smile that you just cant seem to keep from breaking onto your face. But, immediately this wonderful feeling is followed by that hollow feeling in the stomach, the acknowledgement of your present station in life and the cognizance of the things missing from it, that smile that loses its spring half-step and trips into a frown - that is what makes life difficult. It is all about guiding your thoughts. Quality of life is determined by the quality of your thoughts. In short, you'll always get what you want, if you allow it and not doubt it. Cricketics put a wonderful description of this in the OP: The more postive your mind is' date=' the more you keep thinking about a particular thing,[b'] that thing gets attracted to you and will hit your home shores and will bang your doors and will come to you. What a powerful image that is. The object of your desire hurtling from across the oceans and deserts and coming and falling at your feet. Blissful!
