Ram Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Indian cricketers pull NBA/NFL/EPL style endorsements in a country where the Per capita income $2500. :isalute: But hey, more power to them. If each one here had an option of making crores of rupees, we’d all that up in a heartbeat. Everyone has the complete right to fully maximize their earning potential. Its not the cricketers’ fault that sponsors run after them with stratospheric contracts. Blame the system for being comfortable with the status quo – A status quo where cricketers earn so much they couldn’t even be bothered to count anymore on one hand, while the international players of our national sport, hockey, have to go to the extent of striking before the WC to even get their salary.
Zap_Brannigan Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 well done to dhoni but money has nothing to do with ability. india will never start winning abroad because the indian players are more concerned about making money than performing in tests. Its great that you can get into the heads of the Indian players. Never knew that was possible. Thinking about money is better than thinking about camel sex and other things that cannot be printed here.

Supply and demand. You are part of the problem too. Have you joined a hockey forum and have 20,000 posts in it? Do you watch the hockey games?

There are good players in India too like Sunil Chetri. How many of you know that he is currently playing for a US domestic club?
bhajji Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has cracked an endorsement deal worth Rs. 200 crore with a talent management company named for Rhiti Sports Management and Mindscapes. The deal has been settled for two years of time period with a joint venture of Rhiti Sports management and Mindscapes. The dual has committed to handle Dhoni’s corporate profiles, Brand association, patents, his visibility on social media, and the endorsements deal on the major part. The signed deal worth Rs. 200 crore is a remarkable endorsing deal. It has slacked back the god of cricket, Sachin. The cool captain has jumped to whopping compact then Sachin’s three year old deal in 2006 which stood back to 180 crores. Rhiti sports have been successful in grabbing the similar contract along with Dhoni from Harbhajan Singh and R P Singh too. In today’s cricket scenario Mahendra Singh Dhoni is rated as costly sporty man. Source - http://mahindrasinghdhoni.wordpress.com/
