Dhondy Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 The brain cannot use fat for energy. It relies exclusively on carbs. The brain has no lymphatics. The muscle with longest name- levator labii superioris alaque nasi, makes you smile. If your identical twin has type II diabetes mellitus, there's 90% chance that you will, as well. Reiter's syndrome was discovered by a Nazi war criminal. Gout can be caused by drinking fruit juice. Women who have heart attacks often complain of nausea and stomach discomfort rather than chest pain. Women with higher levels of testosterone in their blood have greater libido. You can have a hole in your heart and be entirely healthy. If a man has a deep vein thrombosis and suffers a stroke from that clot, he has a hole in the heart. You are much more likely to have a clot in your left thigh than your right. You can't die of Vitamin B overdose. Your nose grows bigger throughout your life. The most dangerous area for a wound in your body is between your nose and lower lip.

Ram Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 If we voted with head and not our hearts, we'd actually have a good govt.
Ram Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 If we abolished religions, the concept of nations, different races, then we dont have to spend all our time fighting wars and killing each other. We can actually build better roads, give peope access to health, education and make their lives better.

Ram Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 If we dont waste our lives wanting to buy better cars, expensive homes and bigger plasma TVs, things that contribute in no way at all to our personal happiness, we'll have a lot of time to do stuff that gives lots of satisfaction and peace of mind.

[/quote'] Thats your philosophy. A better car(heck, any car) and a bigger plasma TV(heck, any tv) would make me happier, seeing as I have none of these.
ludhianvi Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 The brain cannot use fat for energy. It relies exclusively on carbs. Some info when I was looking up omega 3 sources and benefits. I may have slipped up on the finer details: I've read that Omega 3 fatty acids , EPA and DHA, help in the development of the brain. Also these fatty acids are mainly found in fish, and not in non-vegetarian sources. However, the shorter chain of these acids, ALA, can be found in vegetarian sources. Theoretically, the body can produce the longer chain of fatty acids EPA and DHA from the ALAs, but it requires lots of ALA consumption. And that there is some research going on to derive them from algae in a lab setup so that we can vegetarian sources of the these EPA and DHA Omega 3 fatty acids.

B-> The problem is not in the wanting. The problem is in the feeling that you won't get what yo want.
