Macj Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 gotta give it to him though, boy sure is fit. athletic, fit and a reliable fielder. i liked his bowling too, pity he was used as a blunt instrument against ponting in prime form on flat pitches... a bit like how we destroyed venkatesh prasad... Reliable fielder? The guy is : a) Jumping upwards instead of diving towards the ball, b) His hands are NOWHERE NEAR the ball.
cochise Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Looks like he is directing traffic aerially...or doing a long jump...or an attempt at a flying kick...or ballet...even Dhoni seems to be looking on in awe! What an athlete! :hysterical:
Mr. Wicket Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I still think he's putting his hand up to try and lead the attack. Either way, this definitely fits in the thread. :D
THX_1138 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Reliable fielder? The guy is : a) Jumping upwards instead of diving towards the ball, b) His hands are NOWHERE NEAR the ball. the ball is actually traveling from bottom right of the page to diagonally across where his left hand is attempting to stop it...
Lord Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Reliable fielder? The guy is : a) Jumping upwards instead of diving towards the ball, b) His hands are NOWHERE NEAR the ball. Zap_Brannigan Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Actually, the above pic can be explained easily
King Tendulkar Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 All time great picture. Anyone have the video on this? Intrigued to see the actual passage of play and what really happened, am sure there must be a logical reason for Sir Aggy doing this:--D
Gambit Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ^^ It was against SL during the 2005 ODI series(which we won 6-1). Some SL leftie cut the ball and our man did his ballet act 2 seconds after the ball had passed him.

The Outsider Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Dhoni still has long hair in that picture and the match is being played in India - should narrow it down.

Are you guys sure its not before the world cup. Did we not have the same kit before the world cup? After world cup according to Cricinfo Sir Aggy did not play a single ODI match in India.:hmmmm:

I'll take his word.
amits Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 dhoni had a haircut after the 20/20 wc. and the indian team wore that jersey for the 1st ever time in 2007 wc also, the 2nd team isnt there in the pic. that pic can be from the 1 out of the 4 odis we played in ireland. as that series had indian sponsors
