Is the pitch that flat or do we suck.....

greatly at fielding and bowling?? In this test that is. I can't imagine NZ piling on the runs like this. A follow on could easily be in the cards if we do not bat well.

Hmm.. I'm kinda worried about Sehwag's batting now that he's the captain. I wonder if he'd be more cautious and not play his natural game. In hindsight (duh), making Sehwag the cappo wasn't such a great idea.

We will bat end of day-2 tired and ragged after fielding for 2 days. Any lapse in concentration of our batsmen will be disaster. Pray for rain! Atleast VS and GG can be fresh on day 3

Terrible effort with reards to catching and fielding. You can't get many out on this pitch all right but at least they could have set in out field and stopped the flow of quick runs. The pitch has been heavily favouring the batsmen throughout the season. That said there is always a bit in the pitch and if it gets a little overcast (probably tomorrow) there could be a bit of swing. NZ bowlers although not great may possibly be able to exploit whatever there is in the pitch or conditions given they have played heaps in this venue. The WI v NZ game was a draw here to earlier this summer and there were plenty of runs scored in that test match.

I also think the bowlers have lacked variety in this test match. There haven't been many change of pace, yorkers and bouncers. I believe Taylor and Ryder's counter attack pushed India on to the back foot. Nearly 600 runs in 5 sessions despite having had NZ 3 down early on. That's 120 runs a session, that's a lot for a test match.

Terrible fielding has let us down. Coach should not have given the break to our players who have gone totally complacent.
Who attended the optional practice session ? :winky:

we contributed to our own demise
Mainly by our fielding (bowling was reasonable, though not at our best) and that continued when we started the batting and wanted to just flay Vettori out of the attack in the few overs he brought himself on at the end of day 2
