Mr. Wicket Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Both awesome shows, although FG's started to really go downhill this season. The last ep this weekend was the best thing they've done in an age - although the Simpsons one was still better. This season of the Simpsons IMO is a huge step above some of the past ones - they've gotten some pretty fresh plots for the first time in ages and a few of the shows (particularly the Da Vinci spoof) have been gold. [Note to South Park fans; we're not including that show in this poll so it stays a fair fight]
Laaloo Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I used to be a simpsons fan but ever since family guy came man that show is off the hook. Only recently it has gone downhill.
graphic23 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I have a question about the 3rd choice. Does it mean that the person who selects that option is a homo and doesn't watch either and this means that Mr. Wicket sucks for making this poll ? (because Stewie is saying you suck, and I assume since I'd be selecting this option, I'm talking to Mr. Wicket)

Mr. Wicket Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 We'll have a separate poll, South Park vs. The Colbert Nation vs. Any Other Show to determine what the greatest show in the world is.
punjabi_khota Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Colbert nation is not the greatest even on just comedy central. The program that comes before it is better. In my view: South Park>Family Guy > Daily Show > Letterman (the monologue and stuff..at least) > Colbert > How I met your mommy > Big Bang > 2 and .5 men Mr. Colbert is no doubt a BAAP and his LEGENDZ speech at press correspondents meet in front of Bush may go down as the greatest speech of 21st century. In about 20 years, it will be studied in sarcasm 101 and other similar courses. Many a PhD thesis will be dedicated deconstructing the awesomeness that it contained.
Sachinism Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I was the biggest Simpsons fan, never liked Family guy, but started watching it again properly a few months ago and it was awesome. I still feel the Simpsons is better, but I love how Family Guy pull out jokes which most people wouldn't even dare to do

I still feel the Simpsons is better, but I love how Family Guy pull out jokes which most people wouldn't even dare to do Keep in mind that Simpsons was ****ing amazing through it's first 8 seasons. FG's in its seventh and already in decline (and this was around the time when the Simpsons had the Who Shot Mr. Burns story). Lots more greatness there.
Laaloo Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 The thing about family guy right now that some of the "funny" scenes are too long like in that one episode they showed the whole song of the twitter guy. I mean wtf is that? There are other scenes that are also too long. I cant remember that one but it is in season 7.
punjabi_khota Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Family Guy has one USP: The all awesome song sequences...like this one http://www.hulu.com/watch/5547/family-guy-you-have-aids
punjabi_khota Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 lol' date=' we have very similar tastes.. (except for letterman)[/quote'] You need to give letterman some time and watch it regularly (I did that last summer...) ...there are too many running jokes, so if you don't know what he is talking about..it will be very intolerable.
Macj Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Simpsons though my Family Guy addiction ran its course. Of course King of the Hill trumps all in my house.
h4te Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 South Park>Family Guy > Daily Show > Letterman (the monologue and stuff..at least) > Colbert > How I met your mommy > Big Bang > 2 and .5 men. OMG, we have the same tastes. we should go out and make babies B->
