2009-no contest.the pitches are awesome.we should look to import these pitches back for ipl3.

In terms of tuff cricket, south african pitches made it reall competition between the bowlers and batters. but to look it as a package, IPL 2008 was brilliant. The atmosphere was fantastic.

2009 for sure - the pitches were good for both the batsmen and the bowlers .. the crowds were better and the Indian domestic talents were getting proper exposure .. the best Indian domestic talents also brought out and only a few of them survived in international bouncing wickets good for bowling .. IPL 2009 has been a lot better though I miss watching the match at the stadium in India

2009 for me, cricket in india is an all out sausage fest, except for bombay. Atleast in southafrica u can spot some hunnies in the crowd.

2009 Mainly because of South African conditions making it a good contest between the bat and the ball. Plus, the SA conditions can provide a glimpse to show up the FTBs from the rest

Let me filter it. Both finals were good. In the first edition Yusuf Pathan launched an onslaught on Murali and brought home the win for Royals out of nowhere. 2nd edition BRC imploded and brought home the loss out of nowhere.

2009 was way better though the stronger teams didn't make it to finals the quality of the cricket was good it is always good to see something for the bowlers

both were good and i feel more close matches in IPL 2 makes it good on one hand and i watched :mi: vs :kkr: at wankhede...and saw :kkr: thrashed by a thrilling :mi: win...it makes it more exciting so i think IPL 2 has to be just a bit ahead in terms of close games i loved this one IPL 1 :- 49.999999999999999999999999999999999999999 % IPL 2 :- 50.000000000000000000000000000000000000001 % think wht impact IPL 3 will have

Liked 2008 better cause the better seemed to establish themselves and showed some consistency. This season was roller coaster with teams losing and winning at random, almost to the point where it didn't even make much sense. Only good thing about 2009 was that the bowlers were able to neutralize the bats, but team inconsistency made it a bore-fest for me overall.
