ViruRulez Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 ur patience seems its as fickle as pakis security .. give some time for the young man to come good .. If my patience is fickle what would you say about all the vultures who were running after Jadeja since the first day itself :winky: But on a serious note, if he bowls well for the next matches too he might get a chance for a few series or even a longer time. The expectations from his batting are not high and he is just expected to make an odd 30-40 runs in every other match and I dont know why would we consider him a batsman if he cannot score even that for a long time. Hope Gary Kirsten makes him practise his batting on the nets before the next few matches and he gets his chances in batting too and is able to score at least a half-century in the whole series at least (with a good SR).
vvvslaxman Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Yup... I agree .. but at the same time I wont waste 18 months again on any other player.. if Jadeja is played regularly I would give him two series at the most ... frankly speaking his bowling is comparable to frontline spinners but he needs to get his batting in order soon.. I dont know why cant he hit like IPL 1 again where he was brilliant in hitting fours and sixes Even those 30-40 he produced in IPL 1 are good enough for cementing his place at the no. 7 spot The thing is he is very good in two aspects. Bowling and Fielding. This kid is a very much capable batsman. Just that he lacks certain skill. He is an above average lower order batsman. Think about Yusuf Pathan who sucked at fielding as well not to mention bowling. Consistently giving away 7 an over. Rarely clicked when he was needed.

Params7 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 In Yusuf Pathan's defense, he has a better nickname : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHMzxFjERUU]YouTube - I'm Yusuf Pathan.[/ame]
rahulrulezz Posted October 29, 2009 Author Posted October 29, 2009 How did you come to that conclusion? He Single-handedly took Rajasthan Royals to IPL victory!! In match against Srilanka, when we are 8 down and needed 55 runs in 4 overs..he smacked bowlers all around the parts..and we won....and match against England, where he made 20 something ball 50 and took our score to a respectable total(we eventually won the match just coz of his 50) Some of you guys just love that English style, mechanicla broing Front Foot Defensive shots...For me, all that is b.s. ...Look at Dhoni, Sehwag.....this is the time of batsmen who can play with out of the box approach...Yousuf, Sehwag, Dhoni are the biggest examples.. Jadeja is a poor man Nikhil Chopra

The SL match, he started the damage but it was Irfan who did most of the hitting, And England game was a good knock So how many games has he played? And how many performances does he have to show for it?

Y.Pathan brings that X-Factor... Creates that fear in opposition... who would you want to bowl in last 10 overs.. Jadeja or Y.Pathan

Yusuf was mistiming most the shots later on while Irfans shots were proper cricketing shots with more timing.. if in case we need to bring back any player for the all rounder slot (in case Jadeja does not perform) then I would bring in Irfan instead. Maybe after the departure of Prasad his speed might have also increased like the others :winky: .. he still has good control over swing and he has better swing than perhaps most of our bowlers but his speed is the main problem .. but I believe his batting can improve a lot as his shots are a lot more cricketing shots than most batsmen

urbestfriend Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I prefer dhoni for allrounder role and Karthik for wicket keeper .

Instead what he does, he skips the challengers and his bowling is piss poor, do you real think he is an allrounder, uh
ViruRulez Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Yup the kid has got talent in bowling for sure and has got a very good control over the ball Maybe he can be sent early today if the score is not much.. this is the ideal wicket to test him as the SR reqd. would not be that much.. if he scores some runs it will at least give him some confidence
