MUMBAISKIPPER
Akram slams BCCI for not playing with Pakistan Hindustan Times,New Delhi, July 05, 2009 Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has criticized the Indian cricket board for showing reluctance to schedule a bilateral series. The Future Tours Programme draft does not include a single bilateral series between the archrivals, even though the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had promised earlier that the two nations would meet at least once a year. "The BCCI has been very harsh on Pakistan in not inviting them to play a single match in the future. They do not realise that it is very important for Asia and world cricket that India and Pakistan play together," Akram was quoted as saying by ESPN Mobile. "India should have been sensitive towards Pakistan cricket and its upliftment in the subcontinent. An India-Pakistan series is even bigger than the Ashes, hence the two nations should actually be playing more often not only to generate revenue but heal whatever political bitterness exists," he said. Akram however hopes the situation will improve. "India may not have time in 2010 but hopefully they will find space to play Pakistan in the coming years. Sports has a great healing touch and cricket will prove to be a great leveller." Link to comment

Sachinism
Where does he get the balls to come up with this BS. Does he understand how dangerous his country is? The lad has no brains, India have toured Pakistan when they didn't have to. But now it is too dangerous especially with the "presidential level security" they provide Link to comment
Pak_Fan
lets look what he may have said it, that india should play pakistan, and its not good if india dont play pakistan, but then its media which gives a title, akram slams bcci, now is it his fault, added masala news to me nothing else, if you read the title and the story written inside, they are two diffeent things Link to comment
Sachinism
^^ At the end of the day he is suggesting BCCI are doing wrong by Pakistan. He needs to realise that Pakistan as a country is not stable, especially for touring Indians. Imagine how much attention the terrorists would get if they hit the Indian cricket team. They would become a prime target, so its not worth touring Pakistan. As for Pakistan touring India, its the same thing, the goverment in Pakistan have said it is not safe for the Pakistani players to be in India. Link to comment
