Ofcourse ODIs greater than tests.Not for Dhoni fans more like for most Indian fans.ODIs were considered more important than tests even when Ganguly was captain in India if u dont know. Just compare the stadium attendence and TRP rating in India for tests and ODIs for proof.

You forgot the Test series win against SA . Did India ever win a series against SA under Dhoni ?

Honestly no. Foe once i only started watching test cricket after the test match against Pakistan in chennai 98.It was the first match i watched in stadium so i dont really remember much test cricket before that. And also i hardly heard anyone even talk about India winning a test series against SA at home under Sachin.For example the 97 series against Aus at home i knew because i heard plenty of people mentioning it including Sachin's 155. But i do remember us losing our first series at home in ages was under Sachin.Not that i blame Sachin for that loss considering what surfaced after the series. As for India winning a test series against SA under Dhoni, NO.We havent.But u really want to compare the captaincy of sachin and Dhoni.

We at least did not lose a series at home under Dhoni and we were never good overseas even in Ganguly's time. These 2 overseas series loss cannot take anything away from Dhoni, but if they do take Dhoni's credentials as a captain then it should also be applied on our great 3 batsmen, why are the left. Their greatness has gone down as well and should be called 3 of the most overrated ATGs.

The Srinath partnership with Kumble partnership in Bangalore is talked probably more than anything Srinath achieved as a bowler. Yes we did,but we had One of the best bowlers in the world in zak and a young bowler ishant who were bowling extremly well add bhajji who was still doing good and sreesanth,munaf, supported well,you need bowling to win tests.

why are people fighting over a better captain... dint Ganguly himself said Dhoni is the best Indian Captain ever... just suck it up guys...WC win will supersede everything...even for players its the biggest thing... and what is it with ganguly produced players like bhaji n yuvi n all...do we ever credit Azhar for bringing Sachin, gangu , dravid, lax, kumble, etc...that is so overrated.... its just the nature of game...every MAJOR captain will mostly get better from the previous one...that is usually the criteria to judge them for the job...hope to see future captain even reach greater heights... sad how we always get stuck in past...move on with the time...

this thread has got spoiled by fanboys from both sides dissing 2 great captains in our history , who gave us many good memories. I feel Ganguly was better captain but Dhoni is not the reason we are struggling now. When your top 6 are failing collectively , how much difference can a captain make ?
