Laaloo Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I know this wasn't last year but just had to post this. :) 3diel_XmC9k
Asim Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I don't think any Indian poster on the internet ever got anyone involved in the ICC award "fixing" scenarios It is the Paki persecution complex that is widespread all over- Boo Hoo we didn't win because BCCI controls this and that!! 1): Do you want to say these ICC awards are completly fair all the time (or may not be fair but no indian element even can be involved) ? 2): Do you really mean it that something ("Paki persecution complex") from Pakistan can really get that strong in whole world?
ali0786 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 lol good video laloo..don't know how Aleem Dar missed that one..Sachin's reaction was priceless lol
coffee_rules Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Asad Rauf might be shooting angry e-mails to BCCI for ignoring him.
suraj Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 1): Do you want to say these ICC awards are completly fair all the time (or may not be fair but no indian element even can be involved) ? Is any award completely fair all the time?? Blacks don't win a leading Oscar for 40 yrs or so and then they win 3 in one night- leading actor, leading actress and lifetime Al Gore has a Nobel Price, Americans won a gymnastics gold in Olympics because of wrong scoring.......... Point being- not everything is orchestrated by BCCI and India & it goes to India's credit that despite having so much power in cricket right now things do flow either fairly or we as Indian fans actually criticize the abuse of power when it happens 2):
Asim Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I know this wasn't last year but just had to post this. :) 3diel_XmC9k Yeah that was worst decision and even more worst because india suffered :p I should not justify it but AB dev's right leg was in such an awkward position that Dar might thought it came off the leg otherwise simply it was a slip catch man and no issue whether ball deflected or not. 2ndlly AB Dev should have walked but nothing hapnd unfortunatly for India.
punjabi_khota Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Aleem Dar had to win. He was the only Pakistani who got some cricket this past year. :hehe:
DomainK Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I know this wasn't last year but just had to post this. :) 3diel_XmC9k That was a pathetic decision.:sniffle: But everyone has bad days. Dar is not all about what we see in that clip. He is a good umpire.

Oh no, there was nothing close to the bat. There can be no excuse for not giving that out. That was a horrendous decision.
Guest gaurav_indian Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 What about Amish Saheba? Where is his "worse umpire of the year award"?:dontknow:
suraj Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Aleem Dar had to win. He was the only Pakistani who got some cricket this past year. :hehe: Its not fair Lahore Badshahs should have been awarded the best non- ICC, non BCCI sponsored event team of the year This was actually an award that was unfairly withdrawn because of BCCI and Indian intervention Inzy is almost starting to cry ( he is slow)
Asim Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Oh no' date=' there was nothing close to the bat. There can be no excuse for not giving that out. That was a horrendous decision.[/quote'] Yeah of course no excuses for such decision at this level but what I am saying... just watch in start 3 seconds - Real time - (not the replay), there one may feel like ball came off the leg... otherwise what else could ever be in Dar's mind?
DomainK Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Yeah of course no excuses for such decision at this level but what I am saying... just watch in start 3 seconds - Real time - (not the replay)' date=' there one may feel like ball came off the leg... otherwise what else could ever be in Dar's mind?[/quote'] I saw it several times in real time, still can't believe he did not give that out. That was as clear as it can get.
DomainK Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I know this wasn't last year but just had to post this. :) 3diel_XmC9k lol....Sachin was shouting to ZAK "Neeche laga kya pooch usko" (ask him if he thinks I grounded it). He was furious.
Celeste Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Congrats to Aleem Dar. He is without doubt the best umpire in the ICC elite panel.
suraj Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Congrats to Aleem Dar. He is without doubt the best umpire in the ICC elite panel. Even he would say Taufel is better
OriginalCopy Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Regardless of what happened in the Sachin catch, I think it is a fair decision to give Dar the award. He's a good umpire and gets most decisions correct. He's only human and mistakes do happen, we being Indians take it harsher than most when the aggrieved party is India, much more so if it's Tendulkar. I've seen Taufel give some howlers recently, so don't be too sure of that.
ViruRulez Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 When I saw the news that Aleem Dar had received the best umpire award, I was quite surprised. Frankly speaking he did not deserve it. Aleem Dar has given a lot of wrong decisions last year too and Simon Taufel has been a lot better than him. Taufel should have won the award but maybe Taufel had won the award for 6 years already and so somebody else was given. Anyways congrats to Dar for winning the award this year.
Zap_Brannigan Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 We have one single thread for the ICC awards even when Gambhir and Dhoni wins 2 of the 3 most coveted awards and when atleast 3 indians made the ODI and test sides but we have a separate thread for an umpire winning the "best of the worst " award.
