saneindian Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Pak_forever remember a certain Mr Wasim Akram and the 1996 quarter final at Bangalore. Coming to the topic, With Yuvi out, we need to alter our strategy a bit. How about sending Yusuf Pathan at the top of the order with SRT and having GG bat at 3, Raina at 4, RD at 5, MSD at 6 and Nayar at 7, Bhajji at 8 followed by the three seamers.
Sachinism Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 :yay:Well I am a member in this forum just like you. Got every right to share my views though I do confess this was not a right thread. There's no India-Pakistan match thread where I can share my honest views yet. :winky: If you are going to deliver views from your *****, it would be better if you just kept them to yourself.
DomainK Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 ya ya. Just don't be surprised if Dhoni and Sachin pull out too before taking on Pakistan and then declare themselves fit once the demolishing job is over by Pakistan. No, no....they are like Wasim Akram. The one time when you guys put together your best possible bowling attack (Wasim, Waqar and Akhtar), Tendulkar took them all apart and made them look like club cricketers. That day, he finished four careers. Wasim, Waqar and Inzamam decided to retire. Akhtar didn't, but he could never really recover from that trauma. Wasim really should have chickened out like he did in 96.

DomainK Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Inzamam played WC07. He retired after the Ireland game' date=' when the poyzz didn't play well:cantstop:[/quote'] Oh, yeah, he stayed on for more humiliation. He really should have taken a hint from Wasim. An average of 23 in WC.:wall:
SachDan Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 Oh' date=' yeah, he stayed on for more humiliation. He really should have taken a hint from Wasim. An average of 23 in WC.:wall:[/quote'] ..And an average in single digits for that particular World Cup!
The Outsider Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Oh' date=' yeah, he stayed on for more humiliation. He really should have taken a hint from Wasim. An average of 23 in WC.:wall:[/quote'] Inzi bhai was dropped after the WC though. Anwar did retire however and Latif only played a handful of matches afterwards.
Aadhavzone Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Sachin Gambhir Raina Dravid Dhoni Y.Pathan Nayar Harbhajan RP Singh A Mishra Nehra
Lord Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 SRT GG MSD RD Raina Kohli Nayar Bhajji Mishra Nehra ishant
spectre Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 SRT GG RD Kohli Raina Dhoni Nayyar Bhajji PK Mishra Nehra If the elder crapthan has to play in place of Nayyar, he has to open and use the poweplay, he is real waste in middle overs, He is a Karna in handing his wicket to opposition
Show_stopper Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I would have Dravid open or at least 1 down so we stall their pacers from ripping through our top order. A start..might be a slow one' date=' but a start, and not a crumble like West Indies yesterday.[/quote'] Our iddle order is reliable enough with Raina and Dhoni in the ranks. Besides the Centurion track might just suit Yusuf. And importantly I see nothing in Pakistan's bowling attack that warrants such a line of thinking.:giggle: Ragrding the line-up and batting order..I think its quite clear that Raina will be allowed to play up the order in the absence of Yuvraj. Gautam Sachin Dhoni Raina Dravid Kohli Pathan/Nayar Harbhajan Mishra/Praveen Ishant Nehra #3,#4,#5 may vary according situation/ Req. run rate
Temujin Khaghan Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 three seamers - the question is if Praveen Kumar is one of them SRT,GG,RD,MS,Raina,Bhajji - these players have reserved spots so the other two players should come from Kohli, Nayar, Pathan dhoni hints a batting strong line up so Kohli is sure to be in. I guess the other one is Pathan.
Temujin Khaghan Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 its a shame that there isnt much to choose from the cupboard with regards to batsmen...especially when yuvraj gets injured.
