But bowl well, with discipline and stick to a good line and length- which he CAN do. And when he does it, he is so good
Sooda Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I find this idea that Zak is a leader and the others NEED his presence in order to bowl well a bit funny. Sree is what 28 now?? Fairly experienced. He shouldnt need a big brother to tell him how and where to bowl. Maybe Ishant might, as Zak gets older and misses more test cricket Sree might well be the next 'leader' of the Indian pace attack, what then. Will it all just fall apart in Zaks absence again?

Have you noticed how he tries to calm himself down, every time he walks upto his run-up spot..making obvious 'calm down, calm down' gestures with hand. I cant believe he finds that hard to control his temper. And I am sure he is very innocent guy otherwise - poor chap - he should be given extra room than normal for his temper.

Proving his detractors wrong :) though he took 5 wickets and bowled well too, but only sometimes...not every time...he looked good because others were pathetic as he was just average......it was a 5/60 pitch for him to start with...he gave more than 100 here......

The poor guy can never appease the hate mob.[/quote'] didnt u read full para he bowled well in patches only...otherwise it was as 5/60 pitch on first day..he looked that good because others were rubbish and I do not hate him...i praised him in Durban final day...but he was way behind that performance in this innings...if he had bowled that kind of stuff again....SA wouldnt have gone that far on the first day when ball was doing a lot...

I had already said that Ishant should not be picked untill he improves his technical problems...he needs to work in NCA and analyzing his errors while bowling like left shoulder falling in an attempt to bowl outswingers...front leg collapsing that is why he is not able to put his his weight and power behind the ball and lacking pace and not getting bounce.. as well as work on wrist position

Reprimanding your own player in the press conference and today, on the ground, before millions of people at the ground and watching on TV is preposterous. Let Sree play his natural game. He has been good at muttering and performing this series. This is ordinary handling of a player who has the potential to be the next Indian spearhead. And Dhoni doesn't need to be reminded how his opposite rank "handles" his bowlers.

hari504504 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Was fine with Dhoni till the SA tour I lost some respect for the guy when he said he was forced to bowl raina even though he was going at 10 an over because of the over-rate !!... would a fine hurt you that much captain Planet as opposed to valuable runs that the opposition are piling up ? I lost all respect for him after his PR stunt where his matchwinning bowler became the scapegoat. Now I am nothing but a staunch critic. We put up a fight because of indivdual brilliance in the series - nothing from his inspired captaincy.
