If you would consider wasim bhai foreigner. :cantstop:

BCCI should have sacked these 2 idiots long time back .. Prasad himself was a dabba coach .. His bowling was pathetic .. U guys can remember those days when jayasuriya and any other batsman treat him like a spinner .. Line and length my foot .. If u bowl at 120 wht's the use of line and length .. Regarding robin singh .. I really don't know how he managed to continue for so long ... Indian fielding has gone worse in recent years .. They drop catches .. they concede 2 runs where it should be one ... He was a part of team cos sachin liked him .. and he even got him selected for MI .. God save MI now .. See sachin's fitness also nowdays .. He is growing fat ..I know he is growing old and he will slow down .. But his overall fitness if going down fast .. The moment he score 60-70 runs u can see him cramping
Hope you understand that coaching and playing are two different things. Ramakant Achrekar is not exactly known for his batting abilities. @the part in bold: No one was cursing Prasad when ZAK and Ishant were ripping through the Australian line up again and again. They were reversing the ball like a piece of cake and the Australian bowlers looked like kids in front of them. Prasad has done some good job. May be it's time for him to move on, but it's not right to completely forget his contributions.

Some are getting utterly confused on this point. Its like saying that if the windies appointed viv and garner as their coaches they would rule the world. However, its not quite as simple as that. In fact great players usually make the worst coaches. I believe the great Donald was bowling coach of england when we played them in last test series in england. WE WON and OUT BOWLED THEM and guess what Prasad was our bowling coach!

There was nothing which prasad did in tht .. Zaheer got all tht experience playing in county and Ishant was new and he bowled like he know how to bowl .. The real test started once ishant is to be taken to next level .. and this prasad took him 2 step downwards .. See RP now .. Nehra was out of team away from the influence of prasad and see how he has improved .. I know coaching and playing is different ... But one need to have some international coaching credentials else one will judge u by ur past only .. Its very hard for me to imagine tht a person like prasad who wasn't even a decent bowler than how can he train anyone else ..

answe Domaink's question first.was Ramakant Achrekar a decent batsman? n about Ishant,he did not bowl wat he knew.wen he came he only knew how to swing the ball back in to RHBs,under Prasad,he learnt outswingers, slower ball n reverse swing

I am actually starting to feel quite disgusted at the treatment Robin/Prasad have got. We have had so much success over last 2/3 years while Prasad and Robin were coaches, so many cant even list them all. But despite this and looking at the big picture, the BCCI have acted like star news and completley overreacted with masala sackings. We lost one game in champions trophy and went out of lottery world cup and they get axe. All the test successes and odi successes and 20/20 successes over last 2/3 years have been completley forgotten in these pathetic sackings!

So hiring Donald as our bowling coach would solve all the problems and IS will suddenly be back to his lethal best ? Jonty Rhodes would turn our side upside down and our fielders would be diving 100m to stop the ball ? :dontknow:

Totally irrelevant in respect to his coaching abilities! Thats were people are getting confused between a good player and good coach. For example soem of the best coaches in world football were pathetic players and some never even played football eg Wenger and Moroniouh and Saachi

we are not wining all this odi series because of bowlers,if our bowlers perform according to their potential then we would be unbeateable.

I am not sure what the contribution of these two have been to our recent success or to our failures in T20 WC and CT. If you don't enjoy the confidence of your bosses, I guess you gotta go.

I don't know if he was .. Haven't seen him .. but it seems he just got one super talented student whom he guided the right way .. was he able to do tht again? problem here is not if crappy players can be coach or not .. ofcourse they can be .. but they should have right credentials .. They should have past record showing how many kids have gone through him and r doing good .. and for prasad it was nil .. If they don't have right credentials than their track record as a player is seen .. and for prasad he was the biggest dabba bowler ever in indian history .. and prasad flops in both of those criterias .. So his sacking was right .. he shouldn't be a coach in first place ..

It is a known fact that IKP use to depend heavily on Akram's coaching/feedback over his bowling, so would it be true if I say that IKP was "ruined" by Akram's advices ? Would it be correct if I say, Akram asked him to drop his pace to regain his swing back ? Bowling is all about confidence and rhythm. Coaches are always there to advice you and nitpick your flaws but that is only when you are bowling in the nets. Once the bowler steps on the field he is on his own and it is entirely up to him on how he uses the advices given him by his coaches. Obviously there is no match situation in nets so the bowler would feel all good but once the things start going haywire in the match, bowler needs to be confident enough to handle the situation. I don't know if Prasad was a good coach or no, but BCCI handled this case very stupidly (not surprising so from a board whose staff have no ***iing cricketing background). You cannot blame the coach for the bowlers' downfall. And I have said it earlier, if fixing technical flaws were this easy, then we'd have a game where none of the bowlers would leak runs. How many here can confidently say that hiring Donald/or the best bowler in the world as a coach would almost guarantee that India would not run into similar trouble say about 2-3 years later on ?

:nervous: have BCCI been reading ICF :nervous: bit harsh, but I guess with poor performances of late in the bowling and fielding departments, it probably had to come
Who said they do not read ICF :secret: BTW it is the right decision. They were good players but the team has not improved since they started coaching. Bowling has been quite dismal after the coaching stint of Prasad. Hope we hire an excellent fast bowling coach as we need to increase the speed of fast bowlers immediately. If the speed of bowlers like Irfan Pathan, RP, Ishant, Zak, Nehra etc. can be again increased to their previous paces then we could have a deadly pace attack
