We have already had debate on this during Harisampath days. The thing is that the educated crowd which you see in Chepauk stadium in Chennai etc is mostly from North India. Most of the banners are written in Hindi. and those people come from North India and Parts of West like Bombay etc. It's the mixture of North and west which fill up the staidum. Hence you see Hindi chants and Hindi slogans all over the place in Chennai stadiums. and amidst all that you see few people with Tamil Banners too. Those are your local people from Chennai.
:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: nice try though

I think they should host all the test matches in the south (more educated crowd) and all the ODIs and T20 circus up north (for the northie mela equivalent).
Total number of players from south in national teams is declining very fast (2 in test, none in ODI/T-20)...the educated crowd seems interested only in education :hmmmm2: :P
