Finally, the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has cracked the whip and decided to reprimand the State’s international cricketer S Sreesanth for what it terms as his ‘repeated breach of the model code of conduct’. However, KCA officials said that the incident would not be reported to the BCCI. Sreesanth will be leading the State team for the first match of the season against Andhra Pradesh at the newly inaugurated Thalassery Cricket Stadium on November 3. The KCA president on Sunday warned Sreesanth that further occurrence of such behaviour would be viewed very seriously by the KCA. “Perhaps, this was the first time that such a meeting was held in the State’s cricketing history. Sreesanth has been abstaining from the coaching camp without prior permission for non-cricketing reasons. Such a repeated violation of the model code of conduct is not expected from a player of his stature. On account of this, the KCA has decided to warn him,†KCA secretary T C Mathew told newsmen after the emergency meeting of the selection committee at the KCA Complex in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Sreesanth, who was supposed to report at the coaching camp of the Kerala Ranji team at Thalassery on October 12, had failed to turn up until Saturday. Following this, the selection committee chairman sent a letter to the KCA suggesting that Sreesanth be removed from captaincy if he did not join the camp on Sunday. According to KCA officials, Sreesanth had failed to respond as expected even after the parent association appointed him as the captain of the Ranji team with the clear intention of facilitating his comeback to the national team. Being the captain, Sreesanth should have led others at the camp from the first day itself, said Mathew. “Instead, he did not respond until October 16. Then his mother informed that he would join the camp on 19 after a pilgrimage to Sabarimala. On October 20, Sreesanth sought permission to attend the marriage of the son of national selector Srikanth, which was granted as a special case,†Mathew said. Later on October 22, Sreesanth informed the KCA that he would join the Ranji camp only on October 27 as he was asked to attend the conditioning camp of the Punjab Kings-XI team in Delhi. “Now, we have informed him that his request could not be entertained. Though he replied that he would join the camp on October 23, the word was not kept,†Mathew said. http://www.expressbuzz.com/edition/story.aspx?Title=KCA+warns+Sreesanth&artid=YZ2ZB7atQfA=&SectionID=1ZkF/jmWuSA=&MainSectionID=fyV9T2jIa4A=&SectionName=X7s7i|xOZ5Y=&SEO=

KCA members having their 15 minutes of fame at Sree's expense..:hehe:
:two_thumbs_up: Spot on ! T C Mathew must be the only association secretary who is maligning his own player in public ! Sure Sree has behavioral issues but going to the press instead of dealing with it privately is ridiculous! Is T C Mathew envious of his own players fame ? This is not the first warning letter to an Indian player so what is the big deal? The KCA needs to get its own act together and follow BCCI guidelines first. They treat their players poorly and the boys travel like cattle where all other state associations in the south are flying their boys to venues. The poor blokes playing for Kerala crisscross India by Bus and Train and are exhausted before the tournaments ! It is not the old days where state teams only played knock out tournaments and the matches were not so many. They have poor infrastructure in Kerala to develop the game and instead of focusing on these issues T C Mathew is trying to please the BCCI by talking about his own player in public !!

how many warnings are they going to give him and why is Srikanth's son's wedding so important that the board allowed him to miss the camp
In reality the KCA Ranji Camp is bullshit with all sorts of theory being taught by people like Kinjal Suratwala who has never played cricket. And at this stage the players can prepare themselves and report one week before the tournament. These long term camps are all for show and exhausting for the players mentally and physically. Its just another avenue for associations to provide employment to all sorts of so called experts and make some money on the side. In India they over do preparatory camps and exhaust players instead of helping them be fresh for tournaments and peak at the right time. One can only feel sorry for Indian players with selfish officials and rabid fans who know nothing about the game. Not to mention the expert media who seem to know everything !!
