i think this achievement would be great if the number of wins was more compared to the number of draws. I am taking nothing away from our team but still we are no where close to being a world beating team, we are a very good team now but i dearly hope that we would become a world beating one soon

Nope. It is not a record. The Aussies still hold the record with 16 straight test wins in a row I suppose. The Aussies were simply murderous piling up huge runs in a single day with blistering innings by Gilly and Haydos. We have only one such player in Veeru in the test team (UV is a bit more defensive in tests) who tries to destruct opposition even in tests like Gilly and Haydos did. But right now Veeru is not scoring big. Maybe I would say Hayden was the best of the fast scoring and big hitters as he was more consistent than both Gilly and Veeru. But yes this record shows the level of improvements as we dont let tests to go by. We at least draw the tests if we cannot win it on few occasions and thats good.

We were so bad outside India. Now at least we have learned to draw. That's a huge improvement.

i never disagreed on that! But i want us to be like that going forward, that too when the quality of world cricket has come down significantly.

the chennai test was the 1st test of the series, not the 2nd.. also, it wasn't a dusty pitch.. it was a good pitch that lasted full 5 days.. sachin himself acknowledged that gave credit to the curator... but yeah.. it was a stupendous effort to win that game.. since any chase above 350 in the 4th innings in a big task... it was viru's blitzkrieg that gave us even a hope that we can go on a win.. Sachin did a great finish job.. :adore: we havent lost a test for a good period of time now.. which is good. Touch wood.. but at the same time I would like to see us winning more.. we could have easily won 2 more matches in this period, 1 against eng and 1 against nz.. but our defensive approach in securing the series is not going to help us in the long run.. we need to go for the kill., especially when we play at home or against weaker opposition..

that was a quite a turning wicket and you are taking the credit away from Indian Batsman by saying that. Swan, Panesar, Flintoff, Broad bowel well but Indian Batsman were too good. I don't think yiu have watched that game at all if u r saying that.
