king2be98 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 It was an absolute disgrace, now I'm sure people enjoy this bowler bashing, batsmen to plant their front foot down and smash through the line irrespective of the line, but I don't. I was feeling sorry for every single one of the bowlers out there, they were at the batsmen's mercy. Small boundaries, absolutely dead wicket, lightning outfield, there was nothing, nothing at all for the bowlers. Now I know 275 plays 275 is pretty boring through the middle of the innings, but at least the bowlers on such surfaces have something to work with. The surface they played on today was almost as bad the ones we see at the Gaddafi stadium and every now and then at Jo'Burg.
gaurav92 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I d love to have such wickets coz o ;ove winning in SBL :giggle: Talking on a serious note I dont think there was any need to prepare such a wicket, and hence such a thread
cowboysfan Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 i generally dont care for these kinds of wickets and i predict india will lose in the the world cup if they prepare them making their spinners cannon fodder.
hari504504 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Lankans are one of the few teams against whom we can get away with a seaming wicket...maybe one of those for the next..
bunny Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 The bats are so good, and the batsmen have mastered so many attacking shots, that we need bowler friendly wickets and/or modification in rules to give back respectability to the bowlers. That said I dont care for bowlers like Matthews, Jayasuriya and Jadeja.
S.Bond Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 it was ridiculouss................. i don't want to polemic here, but i REALLY think that indiaprepare these kind of wickets for thir batsmen to make records... Yes they have good batsmen but they really are not that good, as they seem to be.... Don't even want to talk about sehwag because he is very good no problem with him... Sorry but MS Dhoni is NO GOOD BATSMAN....
saneindian Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 The pitch was a flat track like most ODI wickets across the world are these days. Its the quality of batsmanship aided by poor fielding show by both the team which made it even 400 chaseable here. You cannot anything away from the innings by Sehwag, MSD, Dilshan and Sanga. They werent slogging but those were proper cricketing shots. And in the end it produced a fantastic cricket match which we will remember for a long time. BTW has anyone ever said that the track at Jo'burg during the SA-Aus match of 434 chase was a bad one?
coffee_rules Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 The last 15 overs of SL batting was a good contest between bat and ball on a flat pitch. Zaheer, Nehra and Harbhjan bowled really well in pressure. SL was keen on saving wickets and in hindsight they could have gone for broke, but they lasted till the last over. It was anybody'e game till the penultimate ball.,

Now that's out of the way, I would like to introduce you two gents to a wonderful pitch in a location called Faisalabad. Any guesses when this pitch last produced a result in a test match? :D

You guys are really not even trying to understand things.... You just think that if a pakistani is posting that is always against india.... That make nonsense,

And we have good reason to feel that way
S.Bond Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 So which country produces good pitches? I think Australia produces good pitches, with good results, always love to see a match that is being played in australia... That is one day...England are also good i think... For test, australia, england south africa and even sri lankan pitches are often good. We have a good balance between bat and ball... In one day a par socre should be 250...
