I mean first PA was like in your face .. reminding every 23 seconds that its a must watch .. from Neo Sports to Star plus to Radio Mirchi .. Promos were on 24/7 for at least a month b4 release .. and then I saw similar thing for 3 idiots ... I just hate this OTT advertising :wall:

Aamir has taken a leaf out of SRK's book and started promoting his films like anything now.

His movies always did "well" but it is safe to say they never created a huge fuss in box office window compared to his counterpart chichora SRK, whose films would rake in money regardless of being a good movie or not. In India, awards are only handed out to those who bring in the $$ back to producers' bank accounts.

Lord Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 i'm not expecting too much from it. its based on a book i have read.book was great,but its always difficult to translate that into a film.its about engineering students n Aamir Khan,Madhavan r too old to play them that said,its an Aamir Khan film,so may surprise me.

He is able to establish a compelling connect with his audience, qualifying himself as one of the finest filmmakers of his time. Who else can turn something as trivial as pudina chatni into a price indicator? The film redefines idiot as ‘I do it on my own terms’. After watching the film, you won’t mind being certified as an idiot. SRK gave blockbusters and even all time blockbusters with his crap acting due to extensive publicity while Aamir's movies only reached blockbuster level even being perhaps the best actor in Bollywood .. but he did extensive publicity for the first time in Ghajini and it became an all time Blockbuster .... so he is doing even more publicity this time .. maybe he wants to all possible records nowadays :giggle: .. he is trying to prove himself as the most important person in Bollywood and thats why he is doing this maybe :dontknow: ... he also made the mega-premiere of 3 Idiots yesterday and the whole industry biggies were at the premiere

Go and watch it... you guys will love it. Little drame bhaji is always everywhere. But that does not make 2.50 hrs any less worth. * * * * * (5 Starts) from me too.

Perhaps I have never seen Taran Adarsh giving a higher rating to any Bollywood film till date. I will watch at least one movie tomorrow as I have some free time. I am thinking whether I should watch avatar or 3 Idiots tomorrow or both. This will be the first Bollywood movie available officially on youtube after a few months. Another first for an Indian movie. And it is already the biggest ever Bollywood release with a mega release on 1766 screens across the world including 366 in 32 countries.

"This is the first film ever that can be downloaded and viewed on YouTube. But, we are yet to take a decision as to when it should be allowed for downloading legally after 8-12 weeks or later," Chopra said. Responding to questions on reports that multiplexes had hiked the ticket prices of '3 Idiots' steeply, Chopra said ticket pricing was the prerogative of the multiplex owners. "But, I will still check on the prices. I want audiences from all sections of the society to watch my film," he said. He said the decision to allow legal downloading was taken to discourage pirated prints. "If there is a facility to watch movies on mobile phones, the film will be available there but at an appropriate time. We can't harm our theatrical business by releasing it on DTH," he said. Chopra also denied that he had sold the distribution rights of the film to Big Pictures. "My company is releasing the film in collaboration with Big Pictures," he said. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and Madhavan. '3 Idiots' is releasing on Thursday in 1,766 screens world wide out of which 366 are in 32 countries. This is the largest international release for a Hindi film.

They will officially put the movie on youtube after 12 weeks of release. The movie can be watched free and can also be downloaded for a small fee as per reports I just checked. Youtube will enter the pay-per-download business for the first time with 3 Idiots though the exact amount has not been disclosed as yet. Just found another article in another website In a move that will surprise many, the producer of the Bollywood movie ‘3 Idiots’ has announced that, the movie will be legally available on YouTube within 12 weeks of its release. Vidhu Vinod Chopra – the producer of the movie, hopes this will help in countering piracy. “I’m providing this facility for those who can’t see it on big screen and watch pirated movies. Just found another article in another website Downloaded for free? I thought all youtube movies are downloadable. Or do they use DRM??
