bro' date=' I like reading your posts considering we both are biggest supporters of Raina but that quote of yours is plain B.S. its his personaly choice and shudnt be forced to do so.. Srinath, Kumble barely got injured even though they were veggies..regarding putting on weight, look at Sehwag and Laxman, both are Gollu-Mollus of our team and are veggies as well.. so plz bring this veggie !t like some those retarded Pakistanis do[/quote'] No dude...im not advocating one to go against one's culture. But proteins are essential to rebuild the wear and tear the muscles undergo afetr each game or afetr workout. Infact in my post i told they they should be using supplements rather than eating non-veg stuff..results are much faster.

I am really concerned .. if I was the captain I would have given chance to Tyagi instead in the next match.. other fast bowlers have been inconsistent in ODIs but Ishant has been always bad in ODIs since the last few months at least ... I would go for Tyagi in the dead rubber at Delhi

Give him a nice long break and he'll be back to form
I agree with that. He needs a break and then some good time with a good coach. Sometimes when a player is not in form, constant match pressure does more damage than good.

I don't think his bioscope failure in One dayers got anything to do with lack of meat. Just lack of brain cells and skills required for ODIs.
Why are people bent upon this 'meat' issue? Thats not what I emant at all..I'm concerned about them eating pakodas, Bhajjis, vadas etc..I'm just suggesting that BCCI look at football style managers who strictly monitor/prescibe the diet and exercise regimes for players. Because its quite obvious to me that our players take a longer time to regain their enery level compared to Aus or SA team. And yes that includes speed and the general on field liviliness of bowlers as well. As an example take a look at Harbhajan...the guy is struggling to run for the past 2 games!! Some of his fielding efforts have been comical at best. And we all know he wasn't so bad about 5 months ago...he couldn't have aged all of a sudden, could he?

Wasn't he whacked all over by Jessie Ryder not long ago? If i am right he hit him for 3 sixes.

I agree that their fitness might have been affected by food habits.. all the players have gained excess weight recently and maybe it is because of their food habits, oily foods etc. .. they need a good diet and exercise regime too .. being too bulky increases their chances of getting injured too

I think he's a bit tooo overworked. Give him a series off and let him rest for a while. Let his body regain the fitness levels needed to perform at the optimum level in International cricket.

Rest from what? :hysterical: Rest from being crappy. Why using polished words like 'rest'. Just axe him and ask him to prove again at the domestic level. He is no Ambrose or Allan Donald to get back into the side whenever he wants. India has to start looking for other bowlers as well.

But our fast bowling backup at the domestic level is just not good enough to axe him although maybe even the medium pacers will dish out lesser runs than him .. hope Sree is fit and is back in form in ODI too For the Delhi match hope Veeru gives chance to Tyagi in his place .. want to check Tyagi's caliber at the international level which I hope will be good .. Kotla pitch should also assist fast bowlers and he might benefit from it too

Yeah he needs some time off from international cricket. They should let him play domestic matches until the time he shows real hunger to get back in the team by great performances. Team India place is not a right, it is a privilege, and this must be well understood. Also, when playing in domestic circuit, keep him as far from V. Prasad as possible.

It is not about the runs. It is about the learning curve. Ishant has been given enough chances to come good in shorter versions. He still continues to bowl the same rubbish line and length. Time to try new face like Tyagi.

He badly needs a season of county cricket, but BCCI would have none of it. The only hope is that his stock tumbles badly in IPL auctions and then he gets his focus back and starts to work hard again.
