He's still learning. It was always going to be difficult on a pitch that isn't suited to hit the deck, seam bowlers. But he did bowl too much rubbish.

Lets just say he had an off day for now, there's 14 more days of test cricket left. We expected him to do way better being the spearhead, but then I'd wait for the series to end before passing the verdict. It was a shame he was outperformed by the debutant. All those referring to a break .. Sreesanth just had a break and look how well he's done for us this series :haha: Pressing the reset button isn't always the answer.

Which is why the former senior players must atleast be sent on A-tours and B-tours. If a player hardly has any match-fitness, he cannot be blamed. I have gone hoarse posting about why these guys should have atleast been sent to England, if not Zimbabwe and Sreesanth makes me feel vindicated. Even Gary Kirsten agrees with me. I don't except standout performances from Munaf and Ishant either.

agree with the poster who pointed out the diet. I've even heard about trainers in india advocating against eating eggs because they raise cholestrol!! i wouldn't be surprised it they took them off all fats. it shows that the whole nation has a pretty backward thinking mentality when it comes to foods and this has carried on to the sports arenas. no matter how hard you train its impossible to get in a decent athletic condition without a proper diet. last time i was in india i was surprised how so many youngsters did not know what protein means?? and these were college going people.

:fear: You cant blame your religious beliefs to your development in the sport you want to succeed in. If you get dropped or cut then you must be prepared to accept it as you havent done all you can to be better. I remember Craig McMillan who recently retired is a severe diabetic, but that didnt stop him from playing cricket and performing at the highest level. He adapted to it and took all the possible steps to maximize his potential and keep his health in good check at the same time. Even lot of aussie cricketers and such try and keep a healthy and strong body as much as they can, not because it helps them in their cricket, but also their daily lifestyle and long term health, so most of them voluntarily do various strenuous fitness to keep their health in check and also have a good professional cricketing career. This ideology goes down all the way down to grass roots level and general public, which is brightly reflected in the national team.

How many of you saw the bowling today? Can you all come and please say? All you know is abuse a player.
:hatsoff: Great spell of bowling today. May we see more of this consistently.

He bowled well..He was pathetic till today. His bowling stats say as compared to Mithun. So Chandan, come down of your high horses.. Ishant has to PERFORM. End of it. He still has to go long way. Overcast Conditions helped him today and he exploited it. So has Mithun. But Mithun also bowled well when conditions were not helping him.

Both the pace bowlers have got 2 wickets each. it's not that Ishant has ran away with wickets..OUR CRITISISM DOESN'T MATTERS!! it's what the team management and coach tell to ishant Sharma. I'm pretty sure the team management, coach and Ishant himself knows that he has not bowled well till today in the match.. He bowled well in the first session. Hope it give him confidence. Hope he doesn't loses confidence when he sees dart throwers in the team spoiling his and Mithun's efforts..

Ishant is not a swing bowler who will be helped by overcast conditions. Sun was shining by the way. He got the ball to nip from the pitch and was able to seam it. Any bowler can have an off day as a great batsman can be dimissed for a duck. You do not write him off because of that or call him all sorts of names. Learn to understand how early Ishant was almost destroyed by the board by making him play in LOIs repeatedly. He is one of our bowlers for longer version. Appreciate that. And it is the abusers who are on the high horse expecting a bowler to hit the mark always in each and every delivery.
Lets c what he does in the second session.... :om:
Why, you can't appreciate his effort in first session?

Ishant has taken 3 wickets today and Mithun 1. Looks like you haven't watched a ball. Sorry, then. I shouldn't have taken your words then who is speaking from reading web and criticizing the bowler according to that.

Chandan..You made me laugh when you mentioned that ishant having 'off day'. Whatever rocks your boat.. Ha Ha Ha.. Don't try to act in a patronising way everytime. Learn etc. Indian cricket will not improve whether we or you learn everyday..

I quite enjoyed his bowling in the first session. I want him to finish the job. I want him to do this consistently. I am just a normal Indian fan who expects too much
