champ Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 just was referred to this article by my friend .. umar accepts he is 21 although its listed as 19 .. although i dont see anything wrong now , since he is already in senior level .. but isn't this an offence if he has already played junior levels with false age .. and is ICC strict in these matters ?? article here -> http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/ricky-ponting-expect-the-unexpected-from-visitors/story-e6frf9if-1225813697183

Cricketics Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Both have played U19 WC so they have passed the ICC age test. People are just jealous of these young teenage stars. Lol age test?? Age test is not like one of those like DUI test where you would get caught if you are lying.
champ Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 Both have played U19 WC so they have passed the ICC age test. People are just jealous of these young teenage stars. age test is never accurate bcos there is no effective methods .. and read the post .. i have clearly mentioned , it s not a problem once they are in senior level .. but its offence when they lie at junior levels ..
vvvslaxman Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 There has been several cases where Pakistan claimed false age. Nothing new. We are the under-19 champions. Why would we be jealous :winky:

Show_stopper Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Both have played U19 WC so they have passed the ICC age test. People are just jealous of these young teenage stars. err..the article claims Umar himself told he was 21.
hitman1980 Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Even Afridi is ageless .. i guess he is still 16 ;)
DomainK Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Pakistani age cheating is well known. Now that Umar has admitted it. he should be banned from cricket for a few years.

Sooda Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I think Indias U 19 players tend to lie about their ages a lot too, there was an article by Bhogle saying as much not long ago.
OriginalCopy Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Both have played U19 WC so they have passed the ICC age test. People are just jealous of these young teenage stars. There is no age test. Only age verification comes from the country (birth certificate or notarized letter) and in one like yours it is not hard to take a 5 year old boy and ask for a birth certificate to state that he will be born day after tomorrow.
Sachinism Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I think Indias U 19 players tend to lie about their ages a lot too' date=' there was an article by Bhogle saying as much not long ago.[/quote'] No doubt. Must happen
