India vs England 1952 Zim vs NZ Tony Lewis of England is I think, the first and last player who has captained his national side on his test Debut. He made his debut and captained the English side against India. The 3W's were born within a mile of the Kensington oval, within a year of each other and delivered by the same midwife. CK Nayudu once hit the ball into the River Rhea when playing at Edgbaston. Since the river is the boundary between Warwickshire and Worcestershire he is the only batsman to have sent a cricket ball from one county to another. On the day of the India-Windies final in the '83 World Cup a spectator asked Sir Garfield Sobers for an autograph. Sobers denied it saying that day was India's day. Anthony Stuart took 5 wickets including a hat trick in his third ODI for Australia. He never played for the Aussies again. Martin Crowe made an uncredited appearance in his cousin Russell Crowe's Oscar-winning movie, Gladiator. Martin, father Dave, brother Jeff, uncle Alex and cousin Terry, all got dressed up as senators and featured during a day's shooting in the Coliseum, although they were never to be seen in the final edit. This was while they were visiting Russell who was shooting in Malta.

I loved that! :hysterical: Steve Waugh made 87 consecutive ODI appearances for Australia, and was then dropped, only to be replaced by his twin brother Mark Waugh. :winky: There were no less than six ducks- plus one not out batsman, in the Pakistani innings v West Indies, at Cape Town in 1993. :giggle: The first batsman to share in 50 century partnerships in Tests was India’s Sunil Gavaskar. :adore:

I would need some vivid imagination to make something like that up. :giggle: Anyhow, this is from BD's first tour of Australia and at the time they did not have any sponsors for their kit/bats so would have a pretty limited supply. It's in Waugh's autobiography. PS : Gloves can be washed? :hmmm:

Don't think anyone would wash them. Just leave them to dry in the sun, ready to be used again
