Delhi's been experiencing some major chills over the past week and a lot of fog. Nearly ran over a monkey the other day. :hehe:

A little excerpt; *************** Temperatures across South Australia have peaked above 40 degrees Celsius, with Adelaide recording 41.3C. Yesterday was the third day of what is expected to be the state's first heatwave of the year. The weather bureau is forecasting Adelaide will reach 43C on both Sunday and Monday. **************** http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/01/09/2788824.htm

Not a good advertisement for global warming is it Doc? :D Btw, one of the reasons why I posted this image was because I wanted to kindle a debate on which side of the debate the posters are, in relation to global warming. Whats your personal standpoint on this Doc? Do you think global warming is happening? If yes, do you think its man-made or, just the cyclical effects of the earth's temperature cycle? You being a man of Science, I'd be very interested to know what your take is on this issue.
Sriram, I am obviously not a weather expert, but it seemsto me that there's too much evidence to be ignored- glaciers melting, rise in average worldwide temparatures, etc. I sense that you come across as a warming agnostic. Think you'll like this article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/6958093/Climate-change-the-true-price-of-the-warmists-folly-is-becoming-clear.html

Doc, as far as my position on this whole global warming issue, its quite similar to yours. I do not personally know whether the earth is warming up or not. Even if it was warming, I am not sure if it man made or mostly due to planets cyclical weather patterns. But, I do know this - I have no reason whatsoever to suspect the scientific community for this. I have great respect for the academics and I doubt if the 1500 scientists on the IPCC will collude with each other to lie to us on climate change. Reg. whats happening in Britain, its been a tough few months for Brown aint it? Poor man, seems like he can do nothing right. :D

Reg. whats happening in Britain' date=' its been a tough few months for Brown aint it? Poor man, seems like he can do nothing right. :D[/quote'] His situation is very grit now..lol....grit shortage all over the UK and the vehicles are skating on the roads... BTW...I personally feel the poms are always over cautious about the weather. They close down everything when Russia and Canada function normally with higher snowfall. iEven n India public transport does function in the heaviest of floods...
