Will Bangladesh ever improve their Cricket??

Recommended Posts

Someone on cricinfo predicted BD will challenge the top 4 cricketing nations on consistent basis in the next decade. I don't know what was he smoking when he had that premonition :phehehe:

Their growth is going to be slow. Although i have to admit some of their batsmen are better than half the Pakistan team. Their bowling is really pathetic, club standard. Their batting is okay. But certainly some limitations are there as well. Fact that guys like Ashraful is still in the side explains how poor they are. Shakeb is an exception. Rest of the players are mediocre.

For the good of cricket' date=' hope they improve.unless they have a good domestic structure, it is very difficult for them to perform in international scene. [b']BCCI should help them by allowing them to play in Indian domestic tournaments like Ranji etc..
BCB shot down that proposal.

Problem is Bangla players are too arrogant. They won't play in such tournaments as it is an insult for them :hysterical: . They will send some B team and get pwned. Fact is even their main team will be pwned by any half decent Ranji side.

No amount of "professionalism", "attitude" etc. is going to bring about an improvement in their cricket beyond a point. They need individual brilliance and world class players to bring them up to the level. If you look at the growth of any cricketing nation it has been built on having 3-4 world class performers in the team. Bangladesh have finally found one in Shakib. As soon as they get 2-3 more somehow over the next 4-5 years they will become a competitive side. From there on, they can hope to build upon all those good things like professionalism and attitude but the number 1 requirement is to have 3-4 world class players in the team to put them at par with teams like New Zealand and Pakistan.
