He isn't even popular but he is a rich guy, he got his nomination by paying top BAL leaders otherwise he could never dream of becoming a MP or BCB President. Plus he is also the Chairman of the club that Shakib plays for and they paid him a lot of money to sign for them and when Shakib failed to win them the Championship he was very pissed off with Shakib. His company is Lotus Kamal which is why people call him that. Unfortunately he can use his financial power to hold on to the BCB Presidency unless ICC do something. I wish we could get Saber Hossain Chowdhury back as President, he is one of the few worthy and able politicians in Bangladesh and he was in charge when we got Test status but he is out of favour with Hasina because he is one of the reformists that tried to oust her from Awami League.
