achilles
Well, none of us are in the IPL or in the BCCI so we can only guess. His case was referred to the BCCI President Shashank Manohar since he was wrong on paper. He didn't break his association with RR legally before snooping around, which according to the rules is wrong. His case has been fwd'd by Ravi(c/o IPL) to the BCCI and the final decision or a decision to request the IPL gov council to reconsider lies with the BCCI. The ball is in their court. ATM. Guest DeveGowda
Once u r contract got expired ..then what legal things remain ? Unless some other clauses are there.. but Why didnt RR renewed his contract before expiry itself..if they wanted him.. (in football most clubs renew the Contract well before expiry date)... achilles
There must be clauses we dont know of or he wouldn't have been banned. Why didn't they sign him is a mystery. They must have really good ICL players if they reported him and didn't even consider a last min bid to reacquire him.
thevortex
It is sad to hear about Ravindra Jadeja. If the information out there is to be believed, he did notify the BCCI about his out of contract situation. The BCCI/IPL is answerable. But fairness and legality are things anathema to the world's richest board.
flamy
Really sad.

Sachinism
RR gonna really miss 'rockstar' He seems in top form, gained a lot of experience playing for India, would have been a useful asset to RR

achilles
Lawfully, BCCI & RR are right. Morally, its up to us to take the call.
Ranjha
Jadeja did the right thing. Ipl is only about money. There is no patriotism or passion of playing for country involved. One should try to milk it for all its worth. Just unlucky.
achilles
^ He should have played by the book. He could've signed a trillion dollar deal for the next 40 yrs. but he should have done it the right way. Thats all I believe on the issue.

thevortex
No, lawfully they are not in the right, Achilles. Especially if Jadeja's contract with Royals expired before he tried to negotiate.
achilles
^ Which is what Ravi didn't do. He didn't wait for the contract to expire. He started snooping around way before that. Fortunately, everyone does this. Unfortunately, Ravi got caught!
cowboysfan
jadeja can rest now instead of playing for a pittance,he will undoubtedly be the highest paid indian players in ipl4,all-rounders are worth their weight in gold in t20.
Guest DeveGowda
jadeja can rest now instead of playing for a pittance' date='he will undoubtedly be the highest paid indian players in ipl4,all-rounders are worth their weight in gold in t20.[/quote'] I dont think he will be too much worried..many good players are earning less compare to some of elephants...But he has to maintain his international form or he may again get less than what he deserves when new auction starts for IPL 4.. Any guess which IPL team interested in him ?
