Ram Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 ....If he had been stranded on 199*? Just a thought really.. :hmmm: Its a bit like Bradman's test average.. The fact that he scored a duck in his last inning that left his career average on 99.94, probably added a lot more aura to his legacy than it would have if he had actually scored those 4 runs and averaged 100+ Who knows, maybe a 199* would have been more talked about in the long run, than a 200*?

It should have talked if no one in future reached 200... I think this is the Begining we may see More 200,s in future...may be from sachin himself or sehwag or some one else.... this is just like Breaking 400 total in ODI...it happened many times in last few years....
vvvslaxman Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 200 is perfect. Nice round figure :--D Also he is the first to get to 200 something nobody can claim.
Holysmoke Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 ....If he had been stranded on 199*? Just a thought really.. :hmmm: I dont know about all that.. but Dhoni's effigy's would be burnt by the dozen:giggle:
Ram Posted February 25, 2010 Author Posted February 25, 2010 If SRT had been stranded on 199 not out' date=' still a world record, but if someone else made 200 then it would seem very special for that person. since SRT has that magic 200*, if anyone gets past that, still it'll always be said that SRT was the first to get a ODI 200, and that's very special, just finished watching the highlights of SRT's great 200*, Gwalior crowd are very lucky to experience such a feat live :two_thumbs_up:[/quote'] Yea, I sort of agree with that. Why this masochistic feeling' date=' MM?[/quote'] Just wondering :D I dont know about all that.. but Dhoni's effigy's would be burnt by the dozen:giggle: True that :D
DomainK Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 If Sachin had been stranded on 199, A certain Mahendra Singh Dhoni would have been beaten black and blue by an angry mob.
Sachinism Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I dont know about all that.. but Dhoni's effigy's would be burnt by the dozen:giggle: :haha::haha: Nah 200 is better, it seems more of a magical figure. 1st to cross that landmark :adore:
Temujin Khaghan Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 he should have taken strike for the last ball and should have ended up at 202 or smthg but good ol sachin never the one to bother about records.
vvvslaxman Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I dont know about all that.. but Dhoni's effigy's would be burnt by the dozen:giggle: Dhoni would have definitely allowed him. How often you get to be at the non striker's end when the history is made at the striker's end. This happens after 2700 odd ODIs. Lucky Dhoni Lucky Gould Lucky Tarapore Lucky Kallis Lucky... everybody there Ravi Shastri is the luckiest. He has missed commentary stints in between. Nothing happened then. Whenever he was present something special happens.
punjabi_khota Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 The only way it would have been sweeter is if had come against Padosis in WC final. Is all.

vvvslaxman Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 The only way it would have been sweeter is if had come against Padosis in WC final. Is all. :hysterical:
SachDan Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 The only way it would have been sweeter is if had come against Padosis in WC final. Is all. With Team India winning :two_thumbs_up: :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:
vvvslaxman Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I dont want them to get to final. Should be done in a knock out lol
patriot Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Had someone else scored a 200.... ...a Chris Gayle or Jayasuriya or heck even a Veeru would the hype have been even 1% of what the media is generating ? I think not. Even when he hits a 6 through point in the WC against an arch rival it becomes such a big talking point, this after is a record breaking achievement.
