Tuesday 23rd February 2010 T20 WC probables to be announced The preliminary list of 30 Indian players for the forthcoming ICC World T20 would be announced in Chennai on February 26. "The 30 probables for the T20 World Cup will be picked in Chennai on Friday afternoon at 3 pm as the International Cricket Council's regulations stipulate that the list should be declared by each of the competing teams two months in advance of the tournament," Cricket Board sources told PTI today. The final squad for the April 30-May 16 event will be finalised one month before the commencement of the tournament as per the world governing council's guidelines. India won the inaugural event in 2007 in South Africa but failed to defend their crown in England last year, with Pakistan emerging the new champions in the shortest form of the game.

I remember Sehwag was once not even included in the list of probables before the last test series in Aus and then got picked in the squad, played in the team after 2 losses and made a phenomenal comeback. So, no need to read too much into whatever list they put up. However, I hope they include Agarkar, Munaf, Rahane and Irfan Pathan among others.

So, no need to read too much into whatever list they put up. However, I hope they include Agarkar, Munaf, Rahane and Irfan Pathan among others. Agarkar will go for a helluva lot of runs. It will be detrimental to play him in T20s. Irfan should be back though. Rahane and Munaf also should be in the probables.

It will be very hard to include new members unless someone is injured. There is no "We can wait till IPL to select" clause in it.

What has Dhoni got to do with that?? I also think it's a huge mistake not to consider Irfan. Surely, he'll recover from the injury in time for the tournament.

Surely, he'll recover from the injury in time for the tournament. u answer yourself with 2nd part of ur post.surely Irfan will recover by the time WC starts.so why is he not selected? n Dhoni did fight n threaten to resign when Irfan was picked over RP wen RP was bowling pathetically against England.then in NZ tour he was played in T20s only.not even played in dead rubber.then in T20 WC in match against Windies he bowled 2 overs,for 1 for 9.n didnt bowl again.next match he was dropped even though Ishant bowled worse.Irfan hasnt played since.surely there is a pattern there?
