Tyagi and Mithun...

For those of us not watching the match... how good have they been guys? Decent bowlers? Intl class?? is Mithun genuinely quick- cricinfo dosent seem to suggest so... Thx and much lovingz, Sooda :rose:

Mithun is showing as mid to late 70's pon the Tv speed guns, and he bowls too wide of the crease, his action is pretty mediocre too. Should bowl a lot quicker judging from his build.

no wrong assessment, its the conditions which makes them look like this, remember Steyn, langvelt, kallis in the last game they are world class but looked, club bowlers then, even our top bowlers Zaheer, Nehra, Ishant goes for higher economy then this, they are just newbies....

I am also fine with ok pace but these bowlers seem nowhere near even PK .. I have never said PK is a crap bowler although he bowls in 120s .. PK bowls well even in these conditions

TYagi bowled quite a few deiliveries oat 139 Ks to 143 ks and i dont think they are experienced enough even in domestic 3.4 Tyagi to Amla, no run, 142.2 kph, full delivery, hit powerfully, another good reflex save by Karthik at short cover 3.6 Tyagi to Amla, no run, 143.0 kph, driven down the ground, can't get it past mid-on 5.3 Tyagi to Bosman, no run, 142.0 kph, hit to the right of that very man, but no runs 5.4 Tyagi to Bosman, no run, 142.2 kph, driven powerfully, straight to Raina at cover 5.5 Tyagi to Bosman, FOUR, 140.1 kph, full delivery on the pads, a gift really, and flicked away for four to square leg 10.5 Tyagi to Amla, 1 run, 139.0 kph, another drive wide of mid-off, Jadeja does well gain to keep them down to one

Forget the conditions & pace. They also seem to have the standard Sreesanth problem. No thought process and as VVVS says a spray can. Bowling all over the place. It coule be inexperience and pressure, whatever it is. they don't seem to inspire confidence in the bench

firstly i do think Mithun is too raw specially with his bowling action which needs to be refined. Tyagi has good run, bowling action, but sometimes loose rhythm on delivery stride and he tries to do too much on every delivery, needs do basics right, bowl a bit straighter on the off stump line

bt hw cricinfo showing these speeds, may there is conflicts, in cricinfo or maybe in neo. Neo is pathetic channel, i dont think Mithun is that slow not even going over 130, its slower than Praveen kumar, i have seen him bowling in IPL over 135 consistently going up to 145

Man, every indian pacer bowls like that in one day matches even Zak, i dnt even consider Zak a good ODI bowler. I know they were bad today but who has been good in the past, no one, in fact.

It is interesting that the ESPNCricinfo speed gun had higher speeds than the TV speed, and those speeds seem to be more generous to the bowlers - I guess we'll see in the second innings if such a trend continues. However, the bowlers were simply all over the place. Tyagi bowled poorly, with the odd good ball whereas Mithun looked far too raw for international cricket. Sreesanth was also poor. Can our selectors not learn that FC performances do not mean strong ODI performances, as shown by Mithun and to a lesser extent, Tyagi. The two bowlers looked nervous and did not look like they knew their actions. We must start picking experienced bowlers for ODI cricket or bowlers who have actually performed very strongly in domestic OD cricket.
