Sooda Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Nah. Though it can be a major distraction. I didnt have it for a little while and felt cut off from the outside world but no withdrawal symptoms, missed my laptop more than the actual net cuz its my source of entertainment.

But the only saving grace is, I'd rather be addicted to message boarding and discussing cricket and politics online, than be hooked to pot, alcohol, tobacco, porn.. etc. These things cause irreparable damage to both body and mind, while internet addiction, as serious as it is, can be addressed and reversed quite easily. Plus, its not so bad, as long you make make sure you get your daily dose of exercise and have reasonable control over what you eat. Desi Cartman Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 I thought I was addicted but then decided not to give in to the temptation of logging in while watching TV or if I had something else to do. Has been working out ok so far Internet is a big part of my work life though, I would have gone mad if I didnt have internet at work for the last 2-3 yrs

THX_1138 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 well get this: i wake up, i check my email. i finish my shower, i check my mail. i get on the bus, break out my kindle and check mail first then read the newspaper (all online). i get to school, i check mail. i walk into class, i check mail, and cricinfo. i get on the bus and leave for work, check mail on the way. i get to work, check mail. check cricinfo, check icf, check the latest torrents, check my amazon wish list and pine over some meaningless electronic item. i get on the bus, check my mail. make electronic notes when pen and paper would be so much easier. i get home, i eat something, and check my mail, just before i begin the torrents for the night. i check icf, do some work, check icf, do some more work, play star craft online, stalk my ex, play star craft, watch some porn, then a little bit more, check my mail and prepare to go to bed. minutes before i sleep i promise myself to not be addicted to the internet, but check my mail on my mp3 player before hitting the sack. if i do ever wake up in the middle of the night, i check cricinfo or my mail... so you tell me, am i addicted to the internet? hell yes i am, but tell you what, i dont spend more than a minute and a half on facebook and i am damn proud of that.

I also dont waste time on orkut/facebook etc. I play youtube videos or radio on internet while I get ready for work. I also read books on kindle while commuting :(( I iz addicted :wall:
