Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Ok, this thread is not for critics or Sachin haters, both of whom love spoiling the party. It was some days previously when India TV (in all probability) aired this special program on Sachin's future. It has been learnt from reliable sources that Sachin is doing his best to keep his body fit and training real hard to compete with guys much younger than him. For this he has been undergoing various types of yoga and fitness sessions. Various people were interviewed who were employees of a certain training center and they gave details about the fitness regime that Sachin regularly undergoes to keep himself fit and agile. One of the employees was saying how Sachin would instruct the AC to be switched off so that he could sweat practicing. It's also been said that he follows a very strict diet routine that would help him physically in the long run. Add to that, he places a lot of importance on having proper rest and sleep. As hard as he works, he sleeps adequately so that his body can recuperate. Overall, it can be assured that he has been going a very special routine which includes fitness, diet, physical therapies, yoga, etc. Now the real deal. Before saying it I'm once again requesting the critics to not spoil the part with their obnoxious remarks. If you have nothing good to say, then stay away from this thread. Here's the news - Sachin is planning to play the 2015 World Cup as well. Although it looks too far fetched to me, I'd be happy if he can continue in Test cricket till 2012. If he manages to play even till 2012, he'll once again tour Australia where he'll get the chance to help India win a Test series there. Later this year India will tour South Africa and India will get it's chance to win a Test series there. Also, there is a Test series in Sri Lanka mid year where once again India will get a chance to win a Test series there. Overall, from the team's perspective, I want Sachin to achieve - 1. A Test series victory in Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka. 2. A World Cup victory. From a player's perspective, I'd like him to finish his career with averages of - 1. 45+ in ODI cricket. 2. 57+ in Test cricket.
Show_stopper Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 2015 WC?? Not looking likely at the moment. There is only so much time he can dedicate to his fitness when he is playing both forms of the game + IPL. Although he will definitely be touring Aus again.
Lord Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 if u believe IndiaTV the world is going to end in 2012,how will Sachin play 2015 WC?:hmmm:
Show_stopper Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 ^ yeah well said. What would be the point of him playing ODIs till 2015? I would rather he concentrate on tests after the next WC. Also the routine mentioned doesn't sound like anything extrordinary..Just India TV creating something out of nothing.
Lord Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 ^ yeah well said. What would be the point of him playing ODIs till 2015? I would rather he concentrate on tests after the next WC. well if we dont win in 2011 WC then i would like him to play 2015 WC but not meaningless ODIs only WC n CT
Show_stopper Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 well if we dont win in 2011 WC then i would like him to play 2015 WC but not meaningless ODIs only WC n CT And if we lose in 2015..maybe he could play in 2019 as well :winky: Seriously though..the next WC is his best chance.
Lord Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 And if we lose in 2015..maybe he could play in 2019 as well :winky: Seriously though..the next WC is his best chance. yes ofcourse.IndiaTV seems to be making it up.hope we win in 2011 so he can concentrate on tests. btw.r u Raina_ rocks?
Show_stopper Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 btw.r u Raina_ rocks? Yep..just changed my user_id
pappu_kanghi Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 if u believe IndiaTV the world is going to end in 2012' date='how will Sachin play 2015 WC?:hmmm:[/quote'] Good one lol.
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 if u believe IndiaTV the world is going to end in 2012' date='how will Sachin play 2015 WC?:hmmm:[/quote'] It wasn't just another masala news. There were various short interviews with a lot of people who are witness to Tendulkar following an extremely scientific schedule to keep his body agile. And trust me, he isn't bidding adeau to Test cricket anytime soon.
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 I just want India to somehow win the 2011 World Cup. I'd give up upto 10 years from my lifespan only for this wish to come true.
goose Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Sounds like he's doing what anyone looking to improve fitness and/or sculpt body should do. Most do not have the discipline or dedication hence fad diets and idle gym memberships. It's perfectly possible that aged 40 Tendulkar will be in the physical condition of his life. Why stop?
Show_stopper Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Gavaskar played till 40-41, I guess(?)..Imran Khan was 42 when he retired. These guys played in an era when the tours were not as crowded together as they are now. So I don't see Sachin outdoing them. Also does anyone know who was the oldest player to take the field? I think it was Rohan Kenhai..
goose Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Disagree. If Tendulkar is getting serious about his fitness and i mean very serious the sky is the limit. Our bodies can achieve extraordinary things with the right handling.
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 I was around when we won the 83 WC and then the 86 Benson & Hedges WorldCup and ofcourse 2007 one. I was also around when we beat Aus in Perth and SAF in Joburg ... I know which ones I cherish the most. Man, since when have you been following cricket?
Sachinism Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 If the ******y BCCI didn't force him to play IPL then anything is possible
