Alam_dar Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Actually this Decision could also help Pakistan to come to it's feet better than Before. Malik was good in T20, average in ODIs, and worse in Tests. I don't think we are going to miss him at least in coming T20, while Hafeez is going to be selected instead. Hafeez was in good Batting form at least in the Domestics, but most importantly he was very good with his Spin Bowling (much better than Malik). This means Pakistan will be playing with 3 Spinners in T20 (AFridi, Ajmal and Hafeez). Rana is off course a big loss for the coming T20. Pakistan T20 team is looking like this: 1. Hafeez 2. Kamran Akmal 3. Afridi 4. Umar Akmal 5. Fawad Alam 6. Misbah ul Haq 7. Razzaq 8. Yasir Arafat/Gul (most probably Yasir Arafat in order to strengthen the Batting line up. It is also possible that Pak Choose to go with Specialist Batsman like Khalid Latif while we already have enough of bowling Options) 9. Aamir 10. Asif 11. Saeed Ajmal We have 4 Fast Bowlers: Aamir, Asif, Razzaq, Arafat/Gul We have 3 Spin Bowlers: Afridi, Ajmal, Hafeez Hard Hitters (1st Grade): Afridi, Razzaq, Hard Hitters (2nd Grade): Kamran, Umar Akmal, Hard Hitters (3rd Grade): Misbah, Arafat/Khalid Latif Pakistan Problem is this that Asif, Razzaq, Arafat all these 3 operate with almost the same Pace. Rana would have provided much better variation in Pakistani Bowling Line up. None of Asif, Razzaq and Arafat are good enough Death Over Bowlers, but RANA was a good choice along with Aamir for death overs. Pak T20 team is not the favourite, but still dangerous.

PCB will be announcing a Rs. 3 million award for Yousuf and Younis tomorrow..

MUMBAISKIPPER Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 PCB is a mad house...it can impose bans, lift bans within no time....jaisi country waisa board
triam Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 As a Pakistani fan I have to say that I am pleased to hear this great news. Forget what the Indians have to say, their opinion matters little as their team doesn't have the poor discipline ours done and so cannot undersand how much it affects the team. Younis and Yousuf are considered to be nice guys, but I promise you, deep down they are all power hungry men, you can tell this from the way they performed under each other's captaincy. Just looking at their scores and particularly the scoring rates is enough to tell you they weren't match fixing, but they were delivberately playing bad or worse than they actually can in many games. It was always under another person's captaincy, never under their own. As for Malik and Rana, good riddance, both were real ego maniacs and their attitude was dreadful. They truly deserve the bans and it sets an example to everyone else, behave or you'll be gone too. The Akmal brothers are no Waugh brothers, they aren't here to help their side win everything, they are here it seems to try and get as many family members in the team as possible, for their reaction after the Sydney Test loss, a fine is not enough, 6 month ban should have been better. Now onto the biggest trouble maker of the lot, if I was in charge, this guy would have been banned from international cricket for life, not for the tampering as that's a minor offence, everyone does it on Sunday League cricket in the UK. I would ban him for the b*tching that he was constantly doing every time he went anywhere since Inzamam retired. He's got off lightly because the PCB isd probably afraid of a horrible backlash from stupid fans. If he's banned of course he'll miss the T20 WC, which the fans won't allow. I feel the punishment is not severe enough in 3 cases, but finally well done to the PCB for standing up and taking action. Shame on the PCB for not being fair in their punishment by banning Afridi too. Trying to be serious (althugh it is incredibly difficult). The allegations that you specify against Yousuf and Younis, are really that "allegations". Has PCB somehow gotten some proof regarding this underperformance unwantedly? Malik and Rana again, I have read a lot of stories about Malik but nothing concrete, but Rana? where did that come from? Really is there any proof regarding these two too? The only proof that PCB really had was aginst the Akmals and Afridi. For the Akmals they got of lightly, especially Umar, if he really did pull that stunt. And for Afridi, thats the biggest joke the punishment he got. But I dnt understand how PCB can really punish YK, MY, Malik and Rana based on what proof? If they take it to the court, wont the PCB's case be squashed?
Pak_Forever Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 hahaha oh Lord! PCB will never stop surprising us. This is the very reason why we curse PCB. It's such a joke of an organization. Test matches are 4 months away, by then its guaranteed that Yonus and Yosuf will be back. :--D Malik, Rana, Akmals and Afridi got the right punishment. I hope this circus board sticks to it. Seniority cleansing of Malik and Rana will hopefully bring all seniors back to their senses.

Karan114 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Malik instigated other players: Report Karachi, Wed, Mar 10 2010 http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/24670/malik-instigated-other-players-report The Cricket Board decided to take disciplinary action against the players, including indefinite ban on former captains Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan, after confirming reports of internal strife in the team and after getting clearance from the Presidency, sources said today. Well placed sources told PTI that the PCB had kept President Asif Zardari, chief patron of the board, and the sports ministry aware of the recommendations made by the inquiry committee which probed into the poor performance in Australia and into reports of infighting in the team. "The board moved against the seven players after getting approval from the top," one source said. The PCB said it had placed an indefinite ban on Yousuf and Younus as their infighting had had a bad influence on the team. One source said during the hearings of the inquiry committee and after speaking to the coach, manager, captain and other players and even the support staff, it became clear that some players had their own law in the team. "After speaking to the players and officials and looking into the reports of the team management it became clear to the inquiry committee that some players were putting their personal egos and interests above team and national interest," one source said. The source said that the strict action against Yousuf and Younus was taken because both were found guilty of putting at stake team interests while trying to settle personal scores with other players during the tours to Abu Dhabi, New Zealand and Australia. "They didn't behave like senior players and captains. They unnecessarily dropped players who they had scores to settle with and it affected team morale and performances," the source said. The source said that during the course of the inquiry it also emerged that a particular group of players including Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal had forced some other players to take an oath on the holy book during the Champions trophy in South Africa last year that they would not support Younus Khan as captain and to collectively complain to the board to remove him. "One thing was clear that there were clear groupings in the team and that Shoaib Malik emerged as one of the main characters in this whole drama of intrigue and infighting," one source said. "The committee found that Malik was responsible for not only instigating other players not to cooperate with the team management but also kept on encouraging groupings and running down players who just wanted to concentrate on their cricket and not be part of the groupings," the source disclosed. He said that the issue of senior players refusing to play at the number three position in New Zealand and Australia was also discussed threadbare at the inquiry committee hearings. "It was found that instead of setting an example for other players and supporting the captain some players kept on refusing to play at the number three spot causing rift in the team." Another source said that the coach and manager had made it clear to the inquiry committee that this was the right time to take disciplinary action against the players to root out the culture of groupism within the team. "Since the team had lost badly in Australia and public and media sentiments were against the players the board felt this was the right time move ahead with some hard decisions. © PTI
Pakistan-India Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 i dont know why peope are doing ahhahhahahaha and are so worried, because 80% of pakistani are happy and in favour of this decision, younis out of form for a year now, surely if he was in aussie team he'l get dropped, yousuf had a disaster tour of new zealand and ausstralia, even you lot should have dropped tendukar if he had been in such a form for so long, and shoaib malik ban one year, out of form but still has many years in him so one year to teach him a lesson, rana deserves it! a very good decision by pcb after ages, which will get the team right
