Uthappa is a FTB. He failed in WC 2007. T20 WC is also in WI. So' date=' No.[/quote'] Okay two false statements here 1) He didn't fail in WC2007. He was the reason why we won that tie match against Pakisan He also tonked couple of huge sixes against Australia in semi final 2) WC pitches are 10 times flatter than chinnaswamy stadium pitch where he played today.

Just two innings and now everyone's a fan of Uthappa. If Yusuf hits a 37 ball 100, he's India's best T20 batsmen. If Uthappa tonks a few against Chennai, he's now our savior.

People, just see Uthappa's innings from the previous years.. Even vs CSK, the first 2 overs he was playing in his usual bad way. It was more of CSK's way of digging their own grave, rather than Uthappa's heroics.. :--D Even someone like Parthiv Patel can blast sixes if he's given around 2 chances at the start.

Nope He played okay in CB finals opening with Tendulkar. I like guys who are better against pace especially short balls. There is no messing around. He clobbered most of the fast bowlers. My most memorable is the way he smashed Akhtar straight back over his head by walking down the wicket. Do not want another bouncer barrage at our batsmen.

catches dropped or not & what ever bad way of batting in the start you talk about ...it was a brutal innings & you forgot he produced something similar against Punjab too . I have said this a million times before Uthappa is one of the few batsmen we have whos capable of hitting both spin and pace at equal ease ...but there are other aspects he has to develop to make it to the indian team .

Had Rao Ifthikar (correct me?) not dropped Rohit (which resulted in 6 runs) India would have lost to Pakistan in T20 2007. Had Razzaq not misjudged SRT's lofted shot off Akram, India might have not maintained the winning streak in WC against Pak. What's your point ?

and bring in irfan pathan... we need lot of hitters to win t20/
Irfan not worth.. I'd say Saurabh Tiwary did well and so did Rayadu.. Impressive.. and "namma hodi maga" Uthappa a must in WCT20 squad.

One thing is sure. If a player is even slightly unfit regardless of who he is should be left out. I am not sure how serious Gauti's injury is. But his injury seems to be the most serious.

Seems like the Pakis have influenced yout thoughts too. Rationalize my friend Rationalize ! SRT was not one of the last batsmen in the team. Just think a little bit outside the SRT box. When that happened India was what? 60 odd or 70 odd already -- and that too at a fairly good clip. India still had Yuvraj and Dravid and Kaif was still batting at that time -- India did not need any risks to be taken. And that was going to be just the 3rd wicket. And India needed only 270 odd. With all 3 of their bowlers bowling utter garbage -- and the pitch offering little assistance -- I dont think they had a chance in hell after the 1st 7 overs. I have no friggin clue how People go on making useless statements like this.

Consistency of Vinay Kumar is breath taking :hmmm: Comeback of Balaji in IPL is commendable :hatsoff: ps. Irfan has proved him self well enough already. Let the talented soul get what it deserves

SRT was dropped around 36ish (his score) and that would've meant India had to rely on the lower middle order batsmen to score those 60ish extra runs. Are you telling me India would have won or won that easily, had SRT not scored 98. Come again ? We've all seen how India flatters to deceive once SRT makes an early exit. Besides where did I question RD + UV's ability ? You needn't jump on the pak bashing bandwagon everytime you see their names being mentioned here. All I am saying is I trust SRT more than anyone else to see India through in a high adrenaline match like that. And my post was based on "what ifs" and I was not making any claims.

Its no use discussing this...there can no change in the list probables submitted...once the final team of 15 or 16 players is submitted...the only chance of replacement is a genuine injury certified by ICC docs..and the replacement should be from the probables. Also i do not think you can change the probables.

Nope.. it is 30 probables. So they can do whatever they want. only team that has submitted its full team is Pakistan i think :cantstop:.

OK again -- when that happened India would have required 200 or 210 in 40 odd overs. And you do not favor India to get it with 7 wickets in hand ? I would even give it to Bangladesh -- if Bangladesh were in that position. What was high profile about that game? Nothing -- it is all in YOUR mindset about it being a high profile game. The Pakis were a mediocre team in that WC and more importantly -- in that game at least 2 of the 3 bowlers were bowling utter garbage. The way u mention it seems like only SRT wins India games and nobody else.

India was never dependent on SRT while chasing down targets , at least after 2001 ...Dravid & Yuvi wer a far more dependable players in chases ...we had a good chance winning that one even without Tendulkar , but yeah that was one heck of innings which assured that the match dint go close !

Just go back to last world cup and analyze what the problem was. The problem was lack of runs between over number 6 and 15. We just messed up big time. We need players to plug that.
