HowardRoark Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 an obvious case of zonal politics no way this crap bowler is in the class of ojha and amit mishra :giggle: :fail: Chawla and Mishra are from the same zone. Of course, I voted No.
ViruRulez Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 an obvious case of zonal politics no way this crap bowler is in the class of ojha and amit mishra :giggle: nothing to do with zonal politics .. it is due to the musical chair http://indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1009964&postcount=1

achilles Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 ^ Aaku looks like a Daaaku now :hehe: As for the topic, I see no logic in ignoring the Best Spinner in the format - Murali Karthik. And an interesting share- nothing to do with zonal politics .. it is due to the musical chair http://indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1009964&postcount=1

asterix Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 As I've mentioned earlier, few of the players have been selected to be the 'Harem Boys' for the seniors in the team..Chawla fits a Harem Boy profile to the Tee.. I can't think of any other reason for him to be selected. He looks like he will cry any moment..
The Realist Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Based on any objective performance criteria both Chawla and his fat mate Nohit Sharma should be nowhere near any international team. Both of them do very little on the pitch and it beggars belief why they were picked when there are numerous better options out there. What is even more incomprehensible is how out of shape they both are - early 20s yet look like tubby middle aged men rather than athletes. Sad on all counts.
yoda Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 only good thing is he won't get to play a game ahead of Harby and Jadeja.

Cricketics Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 He is not a bad bowler for 2020 format ,but Mishra is the one who should have been selected or even Pragyan Ojha or Karthik. Mishra would have been my first choice.
achilles Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 ^ First Choice for the Second Spinner role? :winky:
Jersey #10 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Today at a league game, my team members were saying that newcomers like Piyush would have made a deal with the selectors such as giving a part in the first 10 games salary. I am not sure if this is true or not but they claimed that 70% of the players make it in the team through this process. ps. Some of them have played for their state under 19 and under 16 teams in India.
achilles Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 May be True. But thats a serious allegation your friends are making. They play in the IPL?
Jersey #10 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 May be True. But thats a serious allegation your friends are making. They play in the IPL? Nah! they played for their states teams a back in the days when they lived in India. Now we have our own little club that competes withing the league.
achilles Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Oh. Thats great man. A little club competing within the league, as in? Is it something that goes unreported in the media?
